Q: HI 5i: I'm thinking of selling SJ and buying CNR instead, moving from the producer of ties to the user. I've held Stella for a long time but it no longer seems to be moving much. What do you think?

Q: Dear 5i,

Please critique the following proposed index ETF portfolios (only equity portion provided, fixed income allocation will be identical in each)

1.
20% VCN
20% ZLB
40% VFV
10% VIU
10% ZLI

2.
20% XIC
20% ZLB
20% XUU
20% ZLU
10% XEF
10% ZLI

3.
40% XMV
40% XMU
15% XMI
5% XMM

With these portfolios, I am attempting to achieve greater sector diversification than if I went with strictly broad-market indices, with a defensive tilt. Which do you think is best (in terms of long-term, risk-adjusted total return potential) for long-term hold/accumulation with annual rebalance to initial weights, and what changes would you suggest (if any)?

Thank you.

Q: You recently answered a question on these... would the distribution be income or dividends? Would any be okay in a tfsa or better in an rrsp or non-registered?

Q: I have a well diversified (thanks to you) portfolio of Cdn and US equities. I have a long term horizon, am comfortable with risk and do not need income (although its always a bonus). I have been sitting on some US cash equivalent to half a position and wondering
1) am I best to be patient and hold the small amount of cash
2) or fully invest it and if so, what you would be on your "shopping list" today for US stocks with greatest upside potential.

Many thanks

Scott

Q: my question regards our holding 2.5% in enb and 2.5% in ala both pay wonderful dividends but both are down about 6% in our portfolio...would you keep these both these stocks or remove one of them ...we also own a 1% weighting in wcp in energy but a 4% weighting in kwh.un and vnr...this is not a burning question but one that we feel possibly needs to be addressed and you are the people that know best so thank you for your advise...

Q: In my technology sector I hold CSU, ABT,ITC, KXS, MDA and OTEX. These stocks share equal weights except for Constellation (CSU) is up more than 300% and is now taking up 30% of my 15.5% weighting in this sector. Although I do not want to sell CSU, should I be looking at rebalancing and replacing perhaps half of my CSU with another tech stock? If so, would you suggest a new one or recommend adding to one or more that I already have. Thank you for your views on this.
