Q: Has the Toronto Star printing opportunity changed your less than positive outlook for this company ? I have never followed the company's progress but am now trying to decide whether or not to buy some shares. It does look attractive to me but I may be missing something.

Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
I realize aluminum is in the "doghouse"...oversupply and underdemand. However I have read a few analysts who think the balance may tip within 6-12 months. So I am looking for a longterm contrarian play. Are there any Canadian companies that might qualify...they must have a decent balance sheet with low debt, good management, safe jurisdiction. A junior company usually has more upside. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Does such companies exist or am I dreaming?

Q: Low yielding companies such as Ccl, Csu, Sj that outperformed the Tse in 2015 are down over 10% so far in 2016.
High yielding companies ie Ala, PPl,Trp that underperformed last year are up over 5-7% ;
Do you expect this trend to continue?

Q: Growth stock 5i favourites are KXS, TNC, SIS and NFI which is on sale. Also oil stocks are on an uptrend. Rank on which order you would buy 5 these entities? Q: I have noticed that, when someone asks about investing in Google, Amazon, etc., you have recommended one ETF or another. I don't believe you have ever recommended FDN, which I hold and like. Is there a negative to this vehicle that I may have overlooked?

Q: Since the beginning of this year, City's drop has been more than twice that of JPM, and its recovery is also way slower. RBC Direct suggests it may be due to oil loans. Do you have any information on why it is performing so poorly (relative to JPM and others)?

Q: I am looking to buy about $100k of Fixed Income for my asset allocation and I have a 12 year horizon. Do you think I should buy actual bonds in some sort of Bond Ladder? or Bond Mutual funds? I am quite sure interest rates will rise at least 2-3% in the next 12 years. Is there a better fixed income product.

Q: Good afternoon,

ITP, is coming down lately, and I been looking into it for a possible long term investment for about 5% of my holdings. My investment brokerage have it at 15.6x time earnings and undervalued. It pays a US dividend which is approximatelly 40% of cashflow (I could be wrong here) which seems safe and they have been increasing it. Do you recommend it? If yes or no can you tell me why?
