Q: Answer at your convenience. I have had a small position in IJR for a couple of years and was going to start adding to it in the new year. However, checking back on past questions I see that the small/mid cap etfs noted above have been mentioned fairly positively. Would any of these be preferred to IJR or would a basket of say, 3 in total (with or without IJR) in this space be a better approach. Could you give brief comments, in order to compare, and which way would you lean if you were making
the choice ?
Thank you for all that you do.

Q: At current levels do you think TOI presents a good entry point for a long term holding? Alternatively, do you think GLXY may be a good option for a more hands on holding?
The context is a TFSA account where losses should be avoided and the goal is to achieve above market returns. i.e. the alternative would be a market ETF.

Q: What are your thoughts on these for a retired investor looking to enhance yield over standard banking and insurance holdings. I'm thinking to swap part of my banking/ insurance holdings over to enhanced yield.

I see from past questions that you're not fans of split shares. What are the risks, when do these stocks work well, when are they at risk, and are there any of these or others that you think can be bought for a partial position in my banking/ insurance portfolio.

Thanks!

Q: My CNQ is down $1400 today. Is it time to replace it with a top up of CVX and XOM? Shoiuld NXF-B also be replaced? It may not seem to be affected by the Venezuela takeover as there are no Canadian companies being held. Please take as many credits as required.
As an addendum to my previous question, NXF-B may indeed hold Canadian oil co. Thus is it a sell now due to the Venezuelan takeover? If so please suggest a replacement. Eighty year old value dividend investor. I also gol CVX and XOM. Just add to those?
Thank you

Q: A few months ago, I purchased a small position in GLXY, in a TFSA.It is down about 40% and it is now well below 1 % of our overall portfolio. A current contribution results in some new funds being available. I am considering adding to GLXY or alternatively moving on to SVM. Dividends are not a priority, and the objective for this account is good growth, with accepting some measure of risk. .Which of these 2 do you think is the better route to go? Also, do you think the recent regulatory change in China regarding silver is an impediment for that company; if so, is there another silver play that you would prefer? Thanks so much for your excellent service.

Q: With Venezuela's action, Canadian Oil companies are taking a hit today. Is it a buying/adding in opportunity? I am considering adding positions to CNQ, PPL, TOU, and any other recommendations you may have.

Q: Happy New Year!

I am looking at where to deploy my TFSA contribution for this year and would be interested to hear your thoughts. My largest position is BN at close to 5% so I am thinking of adding to my smaller positions listed above. If this were your portfolio, would you add this year's $7000 to one stock, or add smaller amounts to two or three stocks? Or, would you only add to BN as it is still at a sleep at night percentage?

Thank you!

Q: I have owned BCE for 15 years and T (Telus) for maybe 10 years or less - combined $80K investments. Both are down for different reasons. I am up , including dividends a fair bit as I reinvest the dividends where opportunities present. Would you add to T at the current price?
