Q: Thank you for the thousands of questions you've answered this past year on hundreds of different companies. You have been most helpful in providing sound advice and guidance.
My question is of a general nature and so feel free to deduct as many points as necessary.
In your recent 'Market Update Report' you make reference to the recent chatter about a pending bear market, which may or may not occur.
I'm rather confused. With the S&P down approx. 18%, the DOW down 17%, and the TSX down 15%, aren't we pretty much in a bear market right now? If we do go into a bear market/recession does that mean we can expect to go down another 15-20%? As is, I'm down an average of 22%. I don't want to bail at this point, but if going into a bear market means going down another 15+%, then I will be in a bad position. There are those who say, "It's too late to sell at this stage", but surely it's not if going into a bear market means going down another 15-20%.
Some guidance at this point would be appreciated. Thanks,
Jake

Q: I was going to sell all AEM to offset a capital gain as I was in a loss position and only some of WEF(loss position) but today AEM was up by $3.00 so wondering if best to sell enough WEF to offset capital gain and hold onto AEM? Your thoughts?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: season’s greetings and thanks for your good work which I’ve been following for the last year. My wife and I are retired, income investors and recently sold out of ALA ( tax loss selling). We want to return the proceeds to the energy sector and am wondering which company or companies you would recommend for best dividend, company security perspectives. We have a little SU at the moment and it looks steady but the dividends are a bit low for our liking. thanks very much.
Q: Do you consider this stock a buy
Q: POW has a 6+% dividend, is at a 6 year low and trending down. Is this a place to hang out for a year or avoid until we have a market leveling. It has been a bit of a market icon for decades but can it continue to survive in this market? Is the dividend in jeopardy?

Q: The 5G build out is underway and Huawei is under investigation by the US government for Iran trade violations and the US government is pressuring governments around the world not to use Huawei because of espionage concerns; do you view Nokia as a buy because of these factors? I appreciate that US stocks are not your specialty but interested in your thoughts.
Q: Just wanted to say thanks for your level headed comments through a tough year.
Could you please provide 5 companies that you think will have minimal impact to their growth guidance due to trade disputes? If possible, could I please get 5 from the US listed exchanges as well?
Please deduct as many credits as you see fit. Happy holidays!

Q: Do you think NWC is less at risk from the Amazon effect than the other larger retailers?
Q: How do I get rid of your contest from my screen- it consumes 1/2 of my phone screen. I just signed up and not interested in this stuff.
Thank you
Thank you
Q: I’m looking for a system or service that shows a stock’s approximate fair value price. Are you familiar with MorningStar’s Quantitative “fair value” stock price? What is your opinion of their stock value rating system? What other sources or methodologies would you recommend using to ascertain a stock’s approximate fair value?
Q: Based on the recent market turmoil, can you recommend 5 dividend paying stocks to buy now where it may be possible to get some capital gains over time.
Q: The tech meltdown has been spectacular. Companies that "own their world" are being trashed. Amazon, Alphabet, Facebook, Nvidia, Square, Salesforce, Microsoft and Box are my favorites. Would you enter this sector now or just move on? Please comment/rank on my tech watchlist. Thank you.
Q: Options - Do you recommend use of puts and calls? If so, do you have a book or article(s) that could recommend?
Q: Considering selling vermilion to capture the tax loss and I realize today is the last day. If I was to sell it today would I still qualify for the debit and that was just declared? In other words is it the sell date or the settlement date what qualifies for ownership of the stock for dividend purposes.
Q: hi, the PE ratio just changed from around 6 to over 12 ( depends which "source" you look at, these are from BNN and globe ), yet there has not been an earnings announcement or update from the company?? do you know what is going on? do you know where investors can find accurate data??

Q: the insider buying by tsgi 4 top execs was very impressive nov.27 at prices 5 dollars higher than where the stock is today, and i agree the leverage to the upside in better markets is huge, on the other hand another one of your favorites kxs has seen consistent insider selling, month after month and this sicard boasting about how great their doing in globe article, yet he is the biggest seller of all, can you comment, why do you like kxs when you see this. dave

Q: Hi 5i Team and Season's Greetings.
Do you have any words of advice for someone who feels like they are the only person holding stocks in this market? Why is everyone selling (although there must be buyers)? This does not seem like volatility anymore and many are saying we are in a bear market, but I cannot see a good reason for that at this point in time. If the stock market is a 6 month to 1 year leading indicator, are we really going to be in this much trouble next year?
