Q: Thoughts on GAMB after earnings? Can you comment on why earnings seemed good but it dropped? The Donville group seem to love it and they are right almost as often as you guys so I'd love to have your take on whether you would buy at these levels and what you might see as it's 3 year return? Is there overlap with GENI or SRAD and is it a takeover candidate?

Thanks

Q: Dear 5i
I have considerable cash yet in my portfolio and have been doing some buying of late , easing back into the market .
I feel that the worst is likely over but with Trump and his tariffs how can you know for sure . My one concern still is not ,so much what additional tariffs could be added but what will be the near future effects of the current tariffs that are in place . Even with no additional tariffs the ones currently in place once in effect are likely to cause increased inflation , higher prices , higher unemployment and the potential for perhaps a mild recession . That said , is it wise to be buying a whole lot now and be mostly invested or would it be prudent to be maintaining steady buying , regardless of the potential for the negative consequences of the tariffs once they take effect ?
Thanks
Bill C

Q: ATRL hit a new high yesterday because they somewhat exceeded expectations and growth is forecast. Have your thoughts on ATRL changed? Certainly the company still has some legacy problem projects / debts but they seem to be resolving them. There appears to be growth, relating to CANDU nuclear reactor refurbishment inside Canada and new reactors in located in Romania. Romania is a member of the European Union but there is governance instability with the leading candidate being described as anti EU, anti NATO, Moscow (& Trump) friendly etc.

I have owned WSP for over 10 years now so I am well ahead but my weighting is still reasonable so I'm not looking to sell. I also have my doubts about ATRL but it is undeniable that the stock has positive momentum now so it is of interest to me to broaden out my construction engineering basket. ATRL is doing better but it is going to require continued strength in CANDU nuclear work to stay successful. I don't think the government of Canada will pull the plug on ATRL, the engineering talent is already inside ATRL but Romania maybe is a wild card.

Any thoughts you have would be appreciated.

Q: Given 5i's recent postive commentary on SRAD, I've begun to look at taking a half position. One of the compelling reasons to do so is 5i's reference to CPP holding the stock. However, when I dug a bit further, it would appear CPP's investment is in a holding called Sun Light Resources Development Limited (SRAD) which focuses on fossil fuels. That said, I couldn't find this company listed on any exchange. Long story short, can you verify if CPP does indeed invest in Sports Radar? In addition, I noted SRAD's stock price shot up in November and continues to rise. Can you please explain this positive momentum? Thank you.

Q: Hi,

I was looking to purchase some Tesla US this morning and I, for the first time, saw the Canadian CDR currency hedged option. Can you provide any guidance as to the preference of one over the other. (I do get that the currency risk (or alternately, reward) is reduced (or eliminated). Is there any other information should be aware of ?
