Q: Hello,
I currently hold a DRIP Portfolio consisting of BAM.A,BNS,RY,MFC,SU,FTS,RCI,ECA,TRP,and POT. I have found this style of investing quite profitable and am looking to add a couple names. I'm considering WSP and TCN. Given the names I already own and the valuation of the two companies, which one would you suggest? Can you think of any other companies that might be a nice addition? I have a 15 year time horizon. Thanks for your awesome service.

Q: I'd like to add more real estate exposure to my portfolio but am a bit concerned about real estate valuations in general at this point in the economic cycle. With this said, what are your thoughts on Tricon Capital Group? It apparently did not trade during the "Great Recession" so I wasn't able to see how it would have performed during that period of time when real estate took a major hit.

With your best guess, and knowing how much exposure they do have to the U.S. market, how do you think the company would have done during that challenging time frame?

Thanks.

Q: I hold substantially less than 5% of each of the above securities in my diversified portfolio. The sector is not over-represented in my portfolio. I would appreciate your opinion as to which, if any, should be sold because of duplication; and/or to reduce the # of stocks held; and/or because of other specific concerns; and which, if any, should be added to. I do not require the cash from any disposition, am not averse to risk, and, subject to your comments, would reinvest it in this or any other sector which you recommend.Thank you in advance for your usual reasoned response.

Q: Hi,
I looked at the Thomson Reuters Report dated for today's date - 2017-06-15. On page 3 of the report it shows the 12 month Price Target mean price as $10.10 with a a Target vs Current upside of +15.4%.
The problem is TCN is currently already at $11.55 as I write this. How can they put a report out with todays date calling for 15.4% upside when the price is already beyond their highest 12 month target price?
I thought the Thomson Reuters Reports were a nice "confirmation" tool as they rate Tricon a "10" but now I don't know if these reports are even worth looking at. I have noticed other similar anomalies in other stock reports with them. Can you clarify what is going on here?
Thanks.

Q: in which order would you sell the above names? Are there any catalysts that might move the stock price in the next couple of months ?

Q: With Milestone sale now going through, do you think the mutual funds that held it, would be looking at other US real estate funds like Tricon, Morguard Reit, Pure Multi Reit, and out of these 3 how would you rate them for buys at this time.
Thank you so much

Q: Noticed a question earlier about the convertible debentures (TCN.DB.U); just wanted to bring to attention that this is a USD denominated debenture and the conversion price of $10.46 is also quoted in USD. So, based on the current CAD/USD rate this was issued at the typical premium as the concurrent subscription receipt offering was at $9.90 CAD, and the stock is still trading below the conversion price which would be roughly $13.90 at today's CAD/USD rate.

Q: Had a bond mature and am considering replacing it with TCN.DB.U. Seems like a pretty good deal, 5.75% 31-MAR-2022 maturity with conversion at 10.46. It's trading at 103.00 and TCN is at 10.90 so you get over double the yield and it should trade with TCN because its already above the conversion rate. Some convertibles come to market with the conversion price 30, 40, 60% above current equity price. Why did this new TCN convertible come to market already at the conversion price?

Q: I already have ENGH, KBL, TCN, AW.UN, CCL.B, CXI and HAC in my TFSA together with about 40% bonds. Can you suggest any of the Canadian stocks you cover which would be most suitable to add here? I guess for a TFSA capital appreciation is paramount.
