Q: Is the sudden brief deep drop today with recovery indicative of any problem with the take over by Blackstone? Thank you.

Q: I see there is a US law firm investigating the proposed takeover price for Tricon. They are looking for investors to talk to. Is this a usual occurrence?
What do you think about the US$11.25 per share valuation being offered?
This news only appears on the USD ticker’s page here on 5i (?).

Q: Will the sharehoders have a chance to vote for or against the proposed buyout?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: Blackstone has put in bid to buy TCN outright for $11.25 US ( approx. $15.00) Canadian. The stock did jump up in price when that bid was made . It now sits around $14.92 Canadian and I'm still in the hole approx. 21 %. Should I sell it now or wait for other potential buyers ? Thanks for any insight.
Q: A tax question. Say I am up 100% on TCN at $15 if I bought 50% more and sold the lot at $15. Would that 50% lower my tax rate?
Q: As suggested by 5i, I sold half of TCN when the "going private" announcement was made, The stock now seems to be quite range-bound, and I'm wondering if I should wait until the deal closes, or could I sell the remaining half now in order to better deploy the capital. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
Q: To replace Tricon Residential what USD based names would you recommend. Thanks Gerry
Q: What percentage of homes etc are in the USA vs Canada. Would Canadian Government interfere ? I thought most assets are in USA

Q: HI Guys
A general question about regulatory requirements, but maybe using TCN as an example as it is now in play....... When a company like Blackstone makes a offer for a company like TCN, once the offer is in place, is the acquirer (Blackstone) permitted to continue to buy stock offered in the market up to 100% even before the vote?
Just seems there is a lot of selling and buying and wondering that would be smart of Blackstone.
Thanks
Stuart

Q: Regarding responses to questions on where to redeploy funds from Tricon, I did not see any reference to InterRent Real Estate Investment Trust. I already own Dream Industrial and plan to add, but to maintain exposure to residential real estate, does it also make sense to add to IIP.UN? Why or why not?

Q: Finally some good news about Tricon! TCN has been a real laggard in our margin account, and even with the recent substantial gain, it’s still down 18.6%. However, this is certainly not nearly as bad as it was several days ago! I can trade TCN for zero commission and of course, the loss will be reported in our 2024 tax return. Would your suggestion to sell half now still apply in this case?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Q: If I wanted to stay in the real estate sector what are your current favorite candidates to re-invest proceeds when selling my TCN holdings
Q: What might cause the offer to fall through? What regulatory issues might be at play? What odds would you give the deal going through?
Q: I didn't journal TCN to my US account for the dividend. Will it make a difference regarding currency when the 'go private' deal is done since it is a Cdn listed stock and only the dividend was paid in USD?
Is it best to buy RBA on the US exchange and are the dividends paid in USD? I want to avoid currency conversions as much as possible and this info is not readily apparent to me.
Many thanks.

Q: Hello 5i team,
Yahoo Business mentioned that TCN tentatively may go private at $11.25 US (~15.17 CAD). You recommended to sell half now.
Is there any regulatory hurdles that may stop this transaction with all the housing problems in both countries? Since TCN is the only REIT in the balanced portfolio, do you have your eye on any other equities?

Q: Fun question: I have 1 drip share of TCN, value $3.22. Cost to sell it is $10.00. Write it off?
Cheers!
Cheers!
Q: Looking for some guidance re considerations to consider in trading TCN at this point. What would your view be on the expected share price movement over the next 3 months. What factors might there be at play to improve the current stock price versus to lower it or finally the likelihood of it stagnating here. So do see it as a sell because current price likely as good as it gets, a hold because upside likely, or, if not too large a portfolio holding, a trim perhaps. Thank you for your views.
Q: Just a follow-up question on the takeover bid for TCN... I don't see any timing for when shareholders of TCN will receive their cash. Do you see any timing details?
Q: Could you comment on the propose take-over by BREIT. The offer looks cheap to me compare with today real book value. If it goes thru, will the new legislation law by the Democrats affect BREIT? Are you expecting outbid?
Thanks
