Q: my question is as follows, every analyst and pundit i follow says this market downturn will not end until we have a massive flushout day where sellers are exhausted on huge volume with the vix at 30 or so, this has not happened yet so why do you tell members to buy anything, why not just tell them to wait.furthermore going back until 1940 no downturn has ever ended without this flush out.
second question, and i asked this before your five favorites stocks for the next year, i think you had largo, gc, i get these 2 and you had covalon, i was surprised with covalon, do you know something we do not, also could you add 2 more if possible.
and last question oil is so beaten up it seems like it is the ultimate value play, no new capacity, opec might cut ,refineries coming out of maintenance, winter is upon us,so why so negative, i own bte and bir, based on the fact oiland gas has to go higher, and the stocks are priced like oil is 25 bucks.your opinion. take 3credits thanks dave

Q: Hello,
which crude oil benchmark does WCP & SGY products fall into?
Do you see any cash flow risk at both these companies due to recent oil downturn?

Q: Hi guys
I know that you are not a fan of split capital shares, but I have had some success with them. With the oil companies being beaten down so much, I am willing to take a position and wait for a recovery. Are the underling companies solid in this structure. Are there any other vehicles that have a basket of oil companies that you would recommend
Thanks

Q: What is your opinion about investing in Vet for the dividend? Should the investment be in my RSP or MARGIN account?
Q: With the sell off and energy taking a beating there must be some under valued stocks out there with low debt , good cash flow but caught up in the negative herd mentality. Any recommendations?
Q: Please comment on recent numbers, I am puzzled by share price lack of performance??
Q: Heads up...
Just wondering if you missed a word in your answer to Tim today about Whitecap dividend being safe.
You wrote "WCP raised its dividend in June, and cash flow of $697M in the last 12 months easily covers dividends of $112M. But dividends are discretionary, and WCP has cut it before (Jan 2016). But we would expect a cut here. "
Sounds like you meant to say "But we would NOT expect a cut here. " - just in case it was an oversight.

Q: I am looking to initiate a position in an oil and gas company.
Can you recommend a couple of companies that would benefit the most from a rebound in the sector, also your reasons for recommending the companies. I have a fairly high risk tolerance and I am looking at a longer term hold.
Thanks!

Q: Good Morning: I hold positions in the above cdn. energy companies and not surprisingly am under water in all of them. Would like to reap the capital losses without being totally out of the sector. I'm looking at one of two possible options: 1, sell these and buy Vermillion; or 2. buy a cdn. etf that focuses on cdn. junior and mid cap oil and gas names. So, first, which of these strategies would you prefer, and second, if an etf, do you have some recommendations. I continue to consider my subscription to your advice and service good value. Thanks for your efforts. Don
Q: Considering the recent moves in natural gas, could you comment again on Altagas. Dry gas has moved sharply higher while gas liquids have gone in the opposite direction.
The questions I have in mind include:
- With higher gas prices will their power generation suffer or are they hedged?
- Will higher prices effect their pipeline volumes and storage facilities favourably?
- Will their new construction project on the coast be effected?
- Do they connect to dry gas fields that have shut in wells while prices were low?
Finally, are the moves too recent with too many moving parts to even comment reliably?

Q: What Canadian companies would benefit from the increase in natural gas prices?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Should I just throw in the towel on Encana? If so, could you suggest a replacement? Thanks.
Q: So, really beaten down on CPG at this point. I guess the lesson is to pick a sell point perhaps. My view is long term (ie. hold for 15+ years). I bought at an average cost of around $15. In your view should I ditch this, continue to hold, or double down at what seems like basement prices? Even 2 years ago when oil was trading for less CPG was triple where it is now. What gives?
Q: Given the current turmoil in the oil market are you confident that the above 2 noted companies will survive and eventually bounce back to their former price levels. Thanks fro your advice. I am fairly heavily invested in both of them
Q: At the risk of sounding foolish, the last sentence in your response to Tim re WCP started wit "But", suggesting you would not expect a cut in dividend. Could you verify your answer.
Thanks
