Q: I have a half position in PLI and, with it being down this much as of late, I am considering buying more. Looks like there may be technical support just above $2. Though the consistent downward trend is somewhat worrying. In a situation like this would you suggest waiting to see if the stock turns around a little or just buy with the understanding that the current value looks good to me. I understand the issues with trying to time something just looking for thoughts on this stock in this context. Thanks!

Q: I have 27% in technology with the following investments.
What should I get rid of to bring the percentage down or would you leave the list as is. KXS, ENGH, SYZ, MDA, CSU, OTC.
Thank you.

Q: Hello Peter,
Your thoughts on PLI here at this recent swoon. Is this tax loss selling or Pli seasonality.

I have been averaging down positions from 2.80.

The street loves this stock, INK insider report has Company director buying millions in stock on open market at 2.40 Nov 30. I am at a loss with this drop. My Alaris AD has saved my portfolio while I wait for this spec stock to run. Should just get out now before this gets worse. Broke support at 2.26 and bouncing on new ST support at 2.05.
Thank you again Cameron and Cheers from New Delhi IN. It's warm here and no snow

Q: Hi 5i: I am in the process of aligning my equity portfolio more closely with the 5i Balanced Equity portfolio. Re the tech sector, I have KXS and SYZ as does 5i. However, instead of CSU and ENGH I have GIB.A and DSG. Would you recommend that I sell the latter two and pick up CSU and ENGH, or is there some intermediate step that you would recommend? Both GIB and DSG have done well for me so far. Thanks for your always valuable advice.

Q: There are two companies in your model portfolio ( SJ and KXS) that are being taken out behind the wood shed and being thrashed severely. Can you offer any reasons for this? Are there any possible concerns regarding the companies that we should be aware of and should we continue to hold the shares. Stella Jones is of particular concern with its downward spiral and down around 5% this morning.

Q: Good day to Pete and Ryan,

A few questions:

1. Does SIS SYZ and ET offer dividend reinvestment plans? I can't seem to find anything on this, so I am assuming not. However, could you please confirm on this?
2. If you had a 10-20 year timeframe, what would be your top pick of these three for a buy and hold strategy?
3. Sylogist vs. Evertz - which one do you prefer?

Thanks guys!

Q: I am trying to do some tax loss selling. I am down 13 percent-ish on both ECN and EFN. Do you think these companies are worth holding for long term? How much free cash flow they generate? If interest rate goes up will they be affected? What kind of ROE they have, are they better than canadian banks? Do you think is it better to hold canadian banks instead?

Q: Peter, I am having my RRSP transferred to a self directed account and will be acquiring all the stocks in your Balanced Portfolio. Having read your recent Q&A on this topic, I will start with 23 positions at 4% each. That leaves me with 8% cash. I prefer to be fully invested and think it makes sense to add 4% GUD for the Health sector and I am thinking of SH, TNC or perhaps a S&P 500 ETF for the remainder. I have a long time frame.

Thank you, Stephen

Q: Hello, this is to clarify an answer to a question asked by Elise on Evertz Technologies. You mention a special dividend of $1.10 per share declared by the company. Since I hold 500 shares of ET, does this mean I will receive a special dividend of $550 in December? Will that be on top of the regular quarterly dividend? Regards, Gervais

Q: Hi, we have Shopify and Spin Master in most accounts in the family.

Shopify has been quite volatile, in line with FANG and other technology stocks, but its swings are much higher than its peers. Recently it traded as low as $50.84 ( after a week of Trump win)and within a week as high as $60.50. Is it worth adding at current level $52?

Spin Master had an incredible run to $39.50. With recent pullback, is it prudent to add at $34-$35 level?

Thank you.
