Q: The pending deal to take CI Financial private, 'may' close in Q2-2025, at $32/share.
Would you recommend shareholders hold for now, or sell it if they already are in the positive on this holding.

Q: Hi 5i team,
My question is on Critical Illness Insurance and Long Term Care Insurance. Please comment on their usefulness as part of financial planning for retirees. Are there particular features to look for or to avoid when shopping for these kinds of insurance? Is going through an independent insurance broker the best way? Any links to articles on this subject that you can provide, including from Canadian Money Saver, would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Q: Hello ,I became familiar with various US ETF in different styles ,they represent now 70% of my RRSP US portfolio .I know that the risk is "supposingly" higher with stocks .I own 7 high quality US large Cies stocks that perform well.I wish to invest in some more US individual dividend stocks that you would consider at low risk , enough to hopefully avoid considering selling them in the future.Could you name and rank,if possible 7 US stocks that would meet those criterias..thanks to your excellent team J-Y

Q: Dear Peter et al:
Thanks to your persistent AND consistent faith in some of your high conviction stocks, my portfolio has done well! I just renewed my 5i Bundle subscription! (Your favourite pick BN alone paid for a few years worth of subscriptions!) My only request is to "fix" the search function in your ETF/MF Newsletter! Long over due my friend!!
I have asked this question several months ago and your answer once again proved VERY profitable! I had asked a few questions from different angles about NON-Correlated assets. Private Equity and Utilities and a few others ere mentioned by you. ALL of them are up till date!!
However at this current point in this cycle, post- election phase, how would you structure non-correlated assets? (To dampen my drawdown in Large caps/Tch/Financials etc., ) Any suggestions?

Q: 1. What is the best Bitcoin and Ethereum Fund to Purchase to Invest in these 2 Crypto Currencies that are as closest to buying the actual currency on Netcoins , Coinbase, Etc
2. I have dealt with Netcoins and Coinbase in the past, but lately I am having issues dealing with them to purchase these currencies... They do not make it easy for me with their security features...
- Their websites and Apps dont give proper access to their services or how to access them to change settings... Especially Netcoins...
- Coinbase is troubling in the fact that you can only transfer funds back to Canadian or US dollars by using Paypal
3. Please provide answers & thoughts ...
4. I know this is not your main specialty, but I would appreciate your take on these questions and your overall opinion...
Thanks,
M

Q: I generally like and follow your advice when making an investment decision and own the balanced portfolio, plus many stocks in the other portfolios. But I strongly disagree with you on class A split shares, especialy ftn.I've used them for years and have made a great deal of money on them, for example I purchased ftn at around 7.50 paying 20% dividend,it now sits at 10.15!!They are definitely not a buy and hold stock, but can produce a massive amt. of income at times.Dfn used to be a favourite, but went through some tough times and is slowly recouvering!!But not to worry,I still value your advice on most everything else!!
Q: I have watched this stock go up and up and now have room in my TFSA ( where I hold my more growth focused stocks ) to purchase some. This would constitute 20% of my TFSA and 1% of my total cash and registered accounts.
Nothing has changed in my conviction of this stock ( positive ) and all the thoughts about Trump ( and Elon ) are positive regarding the sector. I guess the question is : is this the time to buy , is it at a fair valuation, are there company specifics that will drive the price higher ( or lower ) ? I see you still have it in your model portfolio so assume you still like it. I need ‘ my hand held ‘ in making this decision. Thanks . Derek.

EQB Inc. (EQB $107.42)

Brookfield Corporation Class A Limited Voting Shares (BN $52.55)
Q: From previous responses I am assuming you would buy BN over EQB for a long term hold.
My concern is buying BN after such a run.
Is there room for this run to continue based on its valuation?
I have found in the past you just buy the good ones and let them do what they do.
Is that the case here again.
Thinking of switching GSY for EQB for perhaps a little more stability and eliminate the risk of that interest rate cap adjustment potential.
Your detailed thoughts pls.

Q: Could you please provide your opinion on Onex Corporation's offer to repurchase for cancellation up to $400,000,000 of its subordinate voting shares. Would you sell or hold at this time?

Q: In March you indicated a preference for EQB over VBNK. Do you still feel that way?
Q: Hi!
What percentage chance do you give of the buy out failing?
Cheers,
David
PS It took tremendous skill...but I did manage to avoid profting too much on CIX.

Q: Hi There,
I’ve owned this company for quite awhile. I know you like it, it seems to have largely recovered from its past issues. But no traction even though the last few quarters showed quite good results….What’s up with it?
Thank you!

Q: Any chance that another bid may come into play or that the offer price would need to be increased on this deal? Just trying to decide on selling now Vs waiting for the payout.
