Q: I bought a bond from S in 2015 that originally was to mature in 2018, but unfortunately was extended to 2021. In the meantime I have a 56% paper loss. I saw today that S stock price is at $0.18(!). Is there a more than likely chance that Sherritt will go under and if so, is there a way to estimate how much of my principal I can get back? Should I just sell this bond even if it’s in my RRSP? Thanks, Martin

Q: comments please on the quarter?
Q: Peter if shopify does get bought out which 2 companies are looking to buy them out. And since i am a share holder of lightspeed should i be concerned. What are your thoughts about holding on to lightspeed as of now.
Q: If you were to speculate, can you list 2-3 companies for each that are the most likely to, or that make the most sense to, acquire them?
For GoEasy, would it be an alternative lender like home capital or equitable bank, or one or the big 5-6 banks?
For Shopify, would be another payment company like PayPal or MasterCard, a similar online Company like EBay, or a juggernaut like Amazon or Google who would swallow shopify up?
Thank you

Q: Hello Crew
I am nearly retired and I like a total growth approach (dividends plus capital appreciation). During a down market however I don't wish to sell my capital appreciation funds for living expenses. Therefore, my question is what ETF's can I pair -dividends vs capital appreciation that that might serve that end. Examples ZLB/ZDV, XMI/VIGI/ZWE, VGG/XMU/ZWH..your suggestions are appreciated
regards gary

Q: With most bank results in, just waiting on TD now, and the biggest hits to earnings having been loan-loss provisions and capital markets (in the case of RY) can you see if short interest has again spiked on the backs of these earnings, or has it remained relatively flat since the famous 'big short' trader publicly shorted them in the early part of this year?

Q: Hello, Air Canada has been very strong for quite some time. AC's PE now sits at around 13X wheras US carriers are sitting ~7-8X PE. With the risk of oil prices spiking likely sitting at all time lows, the previous "highly cyclical sector" knock on the airline business, seems less of a problem. What are your thoughts on taking a position in an airline at this time? If you were to take a position, which would be your preference in order - and why?

Lightspeed Commerce Inc. Subordinate Voting Shares (LSPD)
Q: Why would it be negative for LSPD if there are takeover news on SHOP?
Q: Would appreciate it if you could comment on the latest results for Nova Leap Health. A microcap with lots of risk, however, they certainly seem to be moving in the right direction. Thanks as always.

Q: Any news on LSPD causing the big drop today
Q: Regarding the rumor of a takeover bid for SHOP, do the insiders have enough shares to block a hostile bid?
Thanks, Tim.
Thanks, Tim.
Q: How risky an investment do you think GDI is in comparison with some of the stocks in the balanced portfolio? Would you put 1% or 5% into it?
Q: Dropped to 40% gain this year for people who bought it at the lows and not the ones that bought on 5i recommendations, who are probably 12+% down.
Q: Your metrics on this company show price to cash flow of 43.5 and price to free cash flow of -124.80. Is free cash flow net of total cap ex or net of only maintenance cap ex? Is negative free cash flow common among REITS. Is free cash flow yield not a metric used to value REITS?
Thanks
