Q: Hello 5i Team
I currently hold shares in Canadian Utilities (CU) and a smaller position in Emera (EMA).
With CU recent dividend increase of 1 %, I am beginning to become disillusioned with CU, as they appear to have minimal growth. ATCO's recent dividend increase was approximately 3 %.
If I sell my CU position and buy EMA, I will reach my target holding of EMA. I would then look to buy ACO if it drops to approximately $40 (potentially selling puts to generate income).
Questions
1 - Does this seem a reasonable course of action?
2 - Should I continue to hold CU and slowly buy EMA to hit my target holding?
2 - Should I sell my CU position and buy ACO?
Thanks

Q: Your comments on the latest earnings would be appreciated. They seem to operate in a good part of tech space for growth. Thanks.

Q: I am down slightly on Aritzia and like it for the long term. I usually like to buy and hold but feel this is going to be a very volatile year for consumers. My concern is the shorter term outlook as the rising rate environment is likely to place increasing pressure on consumer discretionary stocks. As a 2023 move I’m considering selling ATZ, with a look to repurchasing when rates start coming down (who knows but perhaps later this year). In the short term, I’m considering trading ATZ for a dividend stock in the energy sector such as CNQ or ENB. Could you please evaluate this strategy, based on projections today. Essentially, which position do you think will result in the largest gain by the end of 2023? Thanks so much for your insight.
Q: I have some Tou at a much lower price and was considering selling half and waiting a few weeks in hopes that gas price rises and repurchasing at a lower price. Thoughts?
Q: I've held United Rentals for a while and I'm happy with the returns and planning to continue holding. I would like to buy more. What would you consider a good entry point?
Thanks very much for your advice,
Mike

Q: I watched the utube of Chris an analyst at 5i Research on Shopify. I wasn't aware of him. As a member of 5i Research, I am happy to have his knowledge available. Recently someone was looking for moving averages and Stockscores was mentioned. It doesn't seem to provide the 50 or 200 day moving averages for various stocks - we only saw the example (Facebook) which did not have that option. In the past I have seen the 50 and 200 day moving averages whether it was on Globe Investor or iTrade or Bloomberg or charts on your system. Would you be able to advise easy access to it? Thanks so much.
Q: In a diversified portfolio would you be adding ATZ for a 1-2 year hold? Since its recent earnings the technicals are looking negative in the near and intermediate term.
Q: What is your forward looking view of EL? Is it a buy, hold or sell?
Q: Could you please comment on the results?
Do you view this as buy, hold or sell ?
Thanks

Q: Does the price of oil affect the price of Enb? What are your thought of the down grades.
Q: Is the preliminary earnings release next week good news or bad news most likely?
Q: ATH is to report earnings March 1st.
1/4 ly earnings estimates don't look promising.
I notice they have a short position of over 7% about 45mm shares.
I like that insider holdings shows skin in the game,
They have now been on the TSX for a year and price is improving. Any chance ATH will finally start a dividend.
Your comments please.

Q: HI guys
Wondering if you were looking at buying an insurance stock today and hold over 5 years looking at some dividends but mostly total returns would you buy Intact or Sunlife? Do you see a stronger management team at either?
Thanks
Stuart

Q: Our daughter has secured a great job and is now in a position to invest in TSFA and RRSP's. I'm thinking she should start out investing in ETF's. Can you please recommend your favourite ETF's for each, would you also diversify to include some foreign exposure at this time ?
Q: I'm thinking of either doubling our ATS holding (currently a bit less than 2%), or starting a new position in TFII. Can I have your suggestions?
Q: Wow! I spent an hour on a bunch of questions and it was all lost. Here is the summary:
WEF. What is your take. Credit it me if it becomes a 5i pick. : )
WELL: seems it popped because of Ford's medical privatization options. Should I wait for a share price decline? Sometimes prices seem to drop before earnings just so that they can pop more when earnings are announced.
CIX moving nicely. At point would I sell? My breakeven is 20.
Maybe 5i could float their own mutual funds...as Motley Fool has done I believe.
Idea: some kind of software to remind people to buy certain stocks?
Chiefs or Eagles?
Tar and Infinity Pool were boring movies.
Prediction: Dollarama will drop briefly on some manufactured "dire" situation. Things have been going too well for too long there.
Is it illegal to short a company having created the conditions for that shorting? Example: short A&W then get everyone to boycott A & W.

Q: Hi Team,
Looking for your valued opinion regarding the Empire Life Class plus 3.0 insurance/annuity product. This would be for a retiree, 64 years old.
Any concerns with this strategy or things to look out for.
Thank you

Q: Hi,
Just wondering your thoughts on the market reaction to decent earnings from PERI today. Is this a reaction to Google's AI challenges?
Cheers, Chris
