Q: I have no energy exposure in my portfolio since 2014. I sold all of WCP, RRX, VET, SGY late 2014 and never went back. I am thinking about gradually stepping back into energy but not in a hurry or big way. I am a growth investor and have no issue with risks. Should I buy CNQ, SU etc big names or stay with smaller ones like WCP, VET etc. or just use an ETF like XEG? Thanks.
Q: Hi, Trevali is very close to it’s 52 week low. I’m wondering if there is something wrong with the stock? Has it just fallen out of favour or is there good reason for the downturn? If you are still recommending it I am thinking of taking a full position. If not, can you recommend another mining stock with good growth prospects. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Q: With yesterday's earnings release Shaw's class B shares reacted much differently than the class A shares:
SJR.B -3.53%
SJR.A +2.89%
Why would that happen?
Q: STZ is getting punished for their earnings miss. How often do they miss earnings? Are there any significant concerns that would be enough to indicate that I should sell? I hold it as my only US staples stock to compliment your balanced portfolio.
Q: To me, EMP.A looks like a very sold company that continues to reach new 52 week highs. Could you give me your assessment of company and if you would consider it a buy at current levels. With thanks, Bill
Q: Hello 5i,
My only oil and gas exposure is with Yangarra Resouces and I'm looking at Parex as an addition. Please comment on the pros and cons of this move. I have a well balanced portfolio and an above average risk tolerance.
Thank you
Dave
Q: Hell 5i Team,
I am planning to cash out mutual fund and invest it in stocks in my wife's RRSP account (75K) which will be around 1/3 od my existing portfolio (150K). I have my TFSA and RRSP invested in stocks (mostly from Balanced Equity portfolio). I am considering these names, which I don't have in my existing portfolio. Do you see any concern with any name? Please suggest a couple of names for growth potential, but not too risky.
Thanks for the great service.
Kuldip
Q: Could you please comment on the lawsuit filed against CALM. Is it worth being in the crossfire or is it time to bail out while I still have a little bit of profit.
