Q: Hi,

I’m a real estate investor and I love monthly distributions—HMAX and UMAX felt a lot like collecting rent. However, after realizing a significant portion of their payouts is ROC, I’m exploring alternatives that offer high dividends, low ROC, DRIP eligibility, and potential capital appreciation.

My horizon is 20+ years. Could you suggest 2–3 ETF ideas in Financials and Utilities that fit this profile in the Canadian market ideally or global.

Thanks,

Q: Hi 5i Team,

Would 5i Research consider publishing a full company report and rating for Brookfield Corporation (BN)? I currently hold BN, but I find it challenging to fully understand its multi-layered business model and strategic direction. A comprehensive 5i-style report would be invaluable to investors like me, helping us make more informed decisions about this important Canadian company.

I have the same request for AEM.

Best regards,
Matt

Q: I think Trump is headed down the wrong road with his goal to isolate the American economy from the rest of the world and bring back manufacturing to the United States.
I believe that globalization is the better economic system. This leads me to my question: Can you please provide me with a list of your top 10 Canadian companies that have developed their companies into successful, profitable, global operations and have the most possibility of continuing that success?

If you could list them in order of most profitable to least it would be most helpful.

Q: Hi team,
In one of your answers today regarding scr not getting Meg, you mentioned scr giving shareholders a $10 dividend ??? As in 10/ $38.92= 25.7%?! Does that mean if I buy scr shares tomorrow and this dividend gets paid out it’s a 25.7% instant return? Or , did you have to be a shareholder before the initial takeover offer? This type of special dividend seems like a crazy waste of company resources that compounds nothing for the company long term, but if I can get a special dividend of over 25% why wouldn’t I buy it and sell after the dividend?

Q: Hi Team,

What are your thoughts on Fidelity Global Innovators ETF (FNN-T)?
Would you consider it a buy at the moment?

Are there any similar funds in the same category or style that you would recommend instead?

Thanks very much for your insights,

Jacques IDS

Q: Hello Peter and 5i Team,

We have to trim our exposure to AI. It has been a good ride and the time is right to take a little profit to reduce the risk in this sector. We added a little to our small cap and mid-cap ETF's to align with the 5i theory that markets may have some runway yet.

For the remaining funds could you let us know which of the two strategies that we should use?

1. We do not have any dividend stocks. Are there any high dividend (4%+) stocks in the US or Canada that have been hit recently, and thus, may be able to avoid depreciation of their current value if the markets turn south (5%-10%)? We would consider those stocks as safer dividend stocks to purchase now.

2. The other option is to continue with our standard default that purchases PSA and BIL as a default safe play when markets are high. Those funds are deployed back into sectors that get obliterated on a pullback. This strategy is 12%-15% of our portfolios.

Thank you
D&J

Q: Hi,
Could you please recommend 10 (5 US / 5 CAN) high-quality defensive companies with strong balance sheets, low debt levels, and robust cash flows that YOU believe they can weather economic stress, inflation, or stagflation and they relatively hold up their stock prices during such times? If their current stock prices are overvalued, please suggest your recommended entry prices.

Also please recommend ETFs that mainly invest in companies with the above criteria?

Thank you

Q: Entegris seems to be in an interesting niche in the semi space, providing specialty engineered chemicals and materials required in the manufacturing process.

Stanley Druckenmiller recently initiated a new position.

Revenues have shrunk 2% over the past year. Wouldn't you expect that with the huge cap ex spend going towards AI right now that they'd be growing? Other semis like KLAC, ASML, LRCX have grown revenues ~25% over the same period.

Why hasn't ENTG participated in this?

Q: My previous question about PNG was classed as private and I was directed to previous questions already asked, implying I would get information I was looking for. My question referred to the call that was scheduled later in the morning. The question already asked about PNG was posted before the call. Can you comment on the call? Was guidance positive and encouraging? Or was it muted and cause for concern? And is it still one of your top small growth picks?
