Q: I am 53 years old. I have worked 31 years in my Federal Government job, making $100,000 + a year. I will have a defined benefit pension. Currently, I have a $200,000 in an RRSP, self directed,with 100% in equity divided 60/40 between CANADIAN AND US dollar investment. I am planning to retire in 2-3 years.

With this in mind, I want to rebalance my portfolio to make it more conservative. What ETF funds/percent allocations do you recommend to build the fixed income/bond portion of my portfolio both on the Canadian and US side of the house? What funds should I buy (Canadian and US) and how much should I buy of each?

Q: Hi. I have a overweight position in BCE which I have a 3% profit plus dividends over the last year. I'm looking to sell half the position to try to get a bit more growth in the next year, while still maintaining a good dividend. Can you suggest a couple names in a sector with a bit more momentum. I already have a lot of financials. Was thinking Chartwell?

Q: I have noticed that Questor's stock is hitting 52-week highs and the average trading volumes are on the rise over the last 3 months. Given its seller financial results year-to-date, rising market cap and strong balance sheet and its clean tech business, do you think the stock will get more attention again from bigger investors like it once had?

I'm interested in purchasing 1 or 2 of the FAANG stocks for a long term hold. How would you rank them at this time? Do you consider all to be good buys at today's prices?

Q: I have chosen ten stocks from John Heinzl's dividend growth portfolio which are: AQN-T,AW.UN-T, BCE-T, BMO-T, DGRO-N, EMA-T,FTS-T, T-T, TD-T, TRP-T. From my previous question you had suggested these 10 Canadian dividend stocks: PBH, ZCL, SIS, FTS, GSY, ENB, ET, BEI.UN, AQN, and T. My question is should I invest in the 20 stocks or would I be better off sticking to the 10 suggested by 5I?

Q: Peter, I cannot imagine how difficult it must be to come up with an idea a column every week or two. Please allow me to humbly make a suggestion.
I know in broad strokes the difference between the TSE and Venture, but I know nothing about the CSE. Perhaps an article on this and how it may affect me as a DIY investor.
