Given the strong involvement and capital investment by Brookfield in these two companies do you think there is a good growth play here respecting they are different?
Would you consider RGSI and BE a buy today for a 3-5 year hold?
Q: Lurker. First post. I have held TOI for some years since you initially recommended it. It is my whole TFSA holding. What are the "events" mentioned in other comments? If I have a 10-15 year horizon, has your outlook on TOI changed at all? Thx
Q: Can you please give me your opinion on the prospects of GARP. It seems to have performed well since inception, but not without volatility (25% drop in 2021/2022). With this in mind, would it be appropriate for a growth portion of a portfolio? Would now be a good time to initiate a position, or wait for a pullback.
Thank you.
Q: Hi, repeating a very recent question from someone else, but about TOI instead of LMN: Given its weakness and current price level are you now bullish on Topicus?
Thank you!
Q: https://theconversation.com/todays-ai-hype-has-echoes-of-a-devastating-technology-boom-and-bust-100-years-ago-265492 How might one counter in their portfolio the risk of AI causing a market risk like electricity did in the great depression?
Q: I have some Pan American Silver shares in my Canadian dollar account at my broker, but I also have some Pan American Silver shares in my US dollar account (obtained through a US takeover).
I don't think my broker charges anything to transfer the shares from my US account to my Canadian account, but my question is: When I move the shares from my US account, will they automatically transfer one-for-one so that I simply have all the shares combined in a single (Canadian) listing? This would save me an extra commission, and a potential foreign exchange hit, if I ever decide to sell them. Thanks.
Q: I am intrigued with the price action of AXON, for past several weeks. Even when markets and its peers defence/technology stocks are flirting with all time highs, this one does n't seem to catch a bid. Could you help understand, as this is apparently one of your top conviction stocks.
They say that if in an up market, if a stock struggles or moves lower, we need to watch it.
Q: 5i last looked at this company in late 2023 when it was Pieridae Energy PEA:CA. This spring it changed its name to Cavvy Energy CVVY:CA. Please advise how it is doing. Also, what is the the split between being a midstream vs gas production company.
Thanks for your great service.
Cyril
Q: Hello and thank you for all your advice. Hut hit an all time high since 2021 today. Do you still see some growth for this stock or is it time to take profits?
Thank you.
Even with its recent decline, but as long-term holders, CSU is our top allocation with 11.53%. I also note that National Bank has revised its rating to “Sector Perform” from “Sector Outperform”.
If this was YOUR account, would you trim CSU? (Portfolio Analytics suggests that our Technology allocation should be 15%, but it’s presently at 18.08%).
I hold the following industrial/material stocks in my RRSP: GEV (2%), FIX (2%) ETN (1.5%), HEI (1.5%), RTX (1.3%), GE (1.2%), LIN(1.2%), EME (1%), VRT (.5%). I also own AXON (3%).
I would like to increase the weight of some of these positions - ideally through consolidation. Could you please put these in order of conviction (growth) for a 5 - 10+ year hold. Are there any that you would sell outright? Would you recommend any other industrials?
Q: Can I have your most recent thoughts on Booking? Including the last question specific to the company in July and recent “top pick” type references you have remained generally constructive but it seems the company has now retreated to what looks to me as a technically significant point, and is nearing break-even for me. Is there a level that would cause you to say “whatever is going on here we would step away” or do you remain comfortable in the short to medium term? Thanks.
