Q: Hi Team,
Following a question about Canadian and US health care sector opportunities, I am trying compare and contrast IBB (iShares Nasdaq Biotechnology ETF) with XBI (SPDR S&P Biotech ETF). I realize the former focuses on large companies and has more concentrated positions in top holdings while the latter focuses on small companies with a more even distribution of holdings. What are your thoughts about a risk/return trade off between the two ETFs and what timeframe would you be considering to hold either one for an investment thesis to pan out? If you had to pick one, which would it be and why?
Many thanks, Michael

Q: Would you put money into biotech seasonally ? In the past I have done well on Celgene ... However , I have taken quite a hit on Gillead, so I am cautious.
Or should I look at the ETFs for a broader/safer play ?

Q: I'm tweaking holdings within my US portfolio. I currently own IBB and NVO. I would consider selling one or both, to free up cash to purchase CSCO or JCI. Would you consider this a prudent move? Is there any other US equity that you would prefer over the ones I have listed?
Thanks for your help.

Q: Hi,

I am holding RBC Life Science and Tech mutual fund (RBF1030)which is a nice mix of U.S. technology and health care stocks.
What would be a good ETF to replace it or, alternatively, which stocks combination would replace it advantageously ?

Thanks again for your exceptional service,

Jacques

Q: Hi, My current exposure to the health care sector is less than 2%. I am considering increasing my position to approximately 5% by means of etf (I currently own GUD and GILD approx 1% each). I am considering XLV or IBB for etfs. Which of these (or) any other etf you would recommend? I noted that IBB seems more volatile than XLV when I compared them..I was wondering why?
