Q: Hello team, thank you in advance for your perspective. If the US and Canadian dollar fall relative to the Euro, can one predict whether it would be more helpful to own a European ETF in CAD or US dollars? Is it more advantageous to own both a hedged and unhedged version of Europe to help cancel out currency effects? Would you consider a combination of the above two funds as one way to cover off potential currency changes? Please deduct as many points as appropriate to help enhance my understanding of this puzzle.

Q: How do people track their overall performance as traders? I use TD Web Broker and after I make a trade there doesn't seem to be a filed that tracks the loss or gain on the trade. Do people track this in an Excel Spread Sheet or is there a program/app for this?

Q: Hi 5i Team
I'm thinking of buying ENB. I can use either my margin or RRSP account and either my CAD or USD account (so 4 choices). Question: If I buy using the USD account (so NYSE) does the US withholding tax apply even though it is a Canadian company? If I've filled out the withholding tax form (W-8BEN) does that eliminate the withholding tax in any event?
Thanks
Peter

Q: Hi 5i
With its recent run up would you predict CGNX to continue to run following its next qaurterly release (assuming all is well) or take a breather to catch up with expectations?
Is this a name that you would consider good for a trade or better as a long term hold? I'm holding for medium to long term as due to a small position, weighting shouldn't be an issue.
Thanks
Mike

Q: Hi Again,
I currently don't have any US Holdings. It appears that the exchange rate has normalized a bit. Do you think this is a good time to start a USD portfolio?

Examined my portfolio in relation to recommended Sector weightings. Need to trim back Consumer Discretionary. I like them all; they have done well, except for FRII. I’d like to increase the holdings for Staples, REITs, Util, Energy and Telco. Could you please suggest an equity I might add for each of these five categories? Many thanks.

Q: You were right about CXR.
I was reading recently that their earnings were improving some and hoping for a small bump before dumping my remaining shares. Looks like I asked one day too late.

Q: Further to a disappointing quarter result and horrible guidance, what do you think the new CEO will do? Any possibility that GE will be split up into several companies ... medical device, aerospace, and oil/gas etc? If so, how do you think the stock price would react?

Q: Hi 5i Team.
Would you agree to selling Walmart and use the proceeds to buy Amazon ?
The dividend is not necessary , as I am more growth oriented.
I have held WMT in my portfolio for over twenty years.
