Q: Ignoring taxes, cash requirements, and sector allocation, on a straight-up basis, for a minimum of a one year hold, which of these companies would it be prudent to currently sell, buy, or hold? Thank You.

Q: With XTC's 4th Q report yesterday, would you be comfortable taking a small position for growing income?

I see they have increased their dividend every year since 2010, but the share price has declined about 50% since 2016, so not friendly to capital in this particular time frame! What would turn things around over the next few years?

Also comments on the quarter please. Thanks!

Q: For non-Canada exposure I use ETFs (VFV, HXS, XQQ) along with Canadian companies that have significant international exposure. In 2016 you wrote an article on this topic and recommended ATD.B, CCL.B, WSP AND XTC. I particularly liked that you provided a table outlining the countries where the 4 companies were invested. Do you have further information on this topic?

Q: Hi 5i. What is your thoughts on the business/auto industry right now, the price of Exco which is around book value, its dividend and low risk capital structure ? Last conference call management reiterated, dividend increases and share buybacks will be their prudent use of free cash flow - can you give me the goods here.
Respect.

Q: What is your view of this company currently? I know they miss their numbers at least half the time should we be expecting this again today after they report? I currently have 1000 shares and I am down about 35% would you average down? I like the dividend and this holding sits in an RRSP account with a long time horizon. Thanks as always.

Q: Good morning, Today you recommended XTC as a small cap buy. I know you have liked it in the past but.... share price chart is dreadful, recent results were not good and the sector is out of favour. Is it just a straight value play or is there a new catalyst?
Also, are they more affected or less affected by trade tensions/tariffs than MG, MRE and Linamar? Thanks for the great service.

Q: In May of 2017, I purchased some stocks on the advice of a different service than I5.
Including dividends, my returns are as follows:
CSW.A minus 11%
XTC minus 21%
PZA minus 30%

In hindsight, I should have probably cut my losses at some point.
Do you have a suggested trigger to sell after a set loss percentage?
Do any of the above warrant holding or should I sell and reinvest in similar categories? Probably for another 3-4 years.

Thanks for your advice
John

Q: Can you please let me know if you have any concerns with the above shares? Are any worthy of adding to today? They are in a non registered account. Good for 5+ years.
Thanks.

Q: Hi,

I like the look of NFI at the moment. In order to free up some cash I was going to sell 1/2 of my position in XTC (so after the transaction I'd have a half position in XTC & a half position in NFI).

Your thoughts?

Thanks,

Gord

Q: Hi 5i - Exco just reported their quarter and have some noise because of discontinued operations in Bulgaria with ALC. (impairment charge) - I think its a wise move given the loss in those operations. Adjusted earnings look decent and the board raised the dividend 6% - whats your team's take on the quarter and going forward business plus valuation ?

Respect, Patrick
