Q: Husky has suspended the payment of dividends on their common shares.
What is the likelihood of suspending the payment of dividends on their preferred shares like hse.pr.e ?
Under what conditions a company can suspend the payment of dividends on preferred shares?
Would you advise selling hse.pr.e at this stage?
Thank you.

Q: I've noticed with the recent market mayhem the Yield to Maturity on a number of convertible debentures has been rising and they are starting to look quite attractive. Am I right in thinking dividends would be cut before any interest payments are missed? Specifically, what do you think of EIF.DB.G? How safe is it?

Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
Everyone seems to feel the sale will go through. As a share holder if I do nothing will I receive $4.90 per share credit to my account at closing and the shares disappear? Between now and then will the current price tend to drift up towards the $4.90 sale price? The exdividend date was 12/29/15 with the payday being 1/29/16. If I were to sell now...before 1/29/16 do I forfeit the dividend?
Thanks for your great assistance!

Q: Hi there

Wondering if you have any explanation why on a day like this with gold stock up (Barrick up 6% today) that Goldcorp is down. Lately it does not seem to move with other gold stocks. Are there some underlying issues?

Thanks

Q: What is your recommendation with CSE shares? Is it best to just to wait for the sale to go through? Or if it gets close to the $4.80 mark would you just sell the shares. Currently it is trading 5% below the offer price, and overall it looks like stable deal.

Many Thanks.

Q: HLF made a big move today - nearly 6% when everything else seemed to be falling. I did not see any news. Anything to account for this? I was waiting for some weakness before buying. What do you recommend?

Q: ".We would expect a sale, if it occurred, to be in the low $4 per share range." Great call. Now I guess the question is, is $4.90 a fair price.

Q: Recently and in very short order, the TSX blew through a correction (10% down), then quickly passed through bear market territory (20% down) and is right now on this very bad day about 26 % off its high. At what point do we start calling this a market crash? At what point would you consider there to be blood in the streets? It certainly feels like the blood is being sucked out of my portfolio!
