Q: I own twelve oil and gas stocks in a $2.5 million portfolio as listed above. My advisor recommends selling the first seven stocks on the list and adding to the last five positions. I'm primarily interested in capital gains with dividends being a secondary consideration. Would you recommend selling any of the first seven stocks? If so, what gas and oil stocks would you choose as replacements? Thanks for your advise.

Q: I would be curious to see if there is any "scuttle-butte" on Enercare. It seems to be moving up quite nicely in the last 3-6 months. In a recent reply to a member you said you would be comfortable purchasing it up to
$17.25, now that it has reached $17.75 (at time of writing) are you still
comfortable? Seems to have good momentum!

Q: Bellatrix Exploration has lots of sell recommendations. Stock has gone from $10 in 2014 to $1.20 today. Nuttall says “this name has been a total disaster”. But since then, the Alder Flats plant is back in operation and there have been recent efforts to shore up the balance sheet. Do you anticipate further downside to this stock or do you think it will recover ?

Q: Hi,
My only energy exposure is WCP and TOU each at 4% (total 8% of portfolio)

(A) In the current economic environment, considering I am targeting growth, what % would you recommend for energy exposure?
(b) Do you like these two holdings for covering and diversifying my energy exposure? or are there alternatives you think might be better at this point? When I compare charts for TOU vs. PEY, for instance, my untrained eye seems to show that PEY is acting better than TOU over the last year.

Q: I purchased about 4K of PHM from Dec 2105 thru to Fab 2016. Average cost is .45 per share. Sitting now at .16 for a total loss of about $ 2600.00 (down 65%). I don't need the money anytime soon so holding it is not an issue. Just wondering if it will be a total loss (noting you already stated previously it's a "show me" story). Any chance this goes to zero or will it just take 2-3-4 years for me to get back to 45 cents ....

Q: I intend to take some money out of a savings account and put it into 3 or 4 rock solid (what a concept) TSX stocks earning divis
in the 3 - 5% range and looking at a 2 - 3 yr horizon. Would really like to see a list of stocks (with ratings) that you think would meet my requirement. Thanks again.

Q: Gold dropped about 1.5% today, and many gold and silver stocks are down 6% to 10%. I have a high weighting in this area because these stocks have been "moving up".

What do you anticipate over the next few days for this sector? Possibly a rebound? Or might they continue to drop more?

Any suggestions?

Q: In your recent update to your list of top ten USA stocks for an option writing strategy I notice that CALM ( Cal-Maine Foods), which was on your list from the beginning, was dropped. Was that intentional? And if so, could you please provide the rationale for this as well as your current thoughts on the company? Thanks.

Q: Hi guys
I should have added one of these about 2 years ago but unfortunately did not. Looking at their trading price today, and as a long term hold for at least 5 years which stock would you buy today. Looking at about a 4% weight in a diversified portfolio.
