Q: Hi guys,
What are your current thoughts of DOO. You had a B rating on it in a previous report. The share buyback was suppose to be over in July, but recently I keep seeing more insider buying. Is this new or a continuation of the previous major share repurchase announcement. You commented in the report about their engine division (rotex?). I believe their are making these for Scarab jet boats now. Any guidance on the sale of those boats and how that 2015 sale panned out for increase engine manufacturing now that it is out of their SeaDoo brand? I hear that this engine is the best for small jet boats, so perhaps with the good marketing of Scarab, sales could be in a better trajectory. There has been good price movement in this stock lately, but I am nervous about going into a consumer based manufacturer company. You had also commented on large USD based debt in the report. As of late currency swings could be more relevant to earnings. (Also- full disclosure- i want want for me lake Huron Cottage) i could be biased. Thank you.

Q: Facebook has had a good run in the past 12 months and there is a good mix of analysts who rate it as a buy. However Pivotal Research rates it as a sell and calls for a 24% drop in the current price. What is your opinion of FB? Is Googl a better stock at this juncture or would you recommend I look at another stock in this sector.
Q: Hello Peter and team,
Further to my previous question on buying these REITS:
AAR.UN
WIR.UN
RUF.UN
NVU.UN
DRG.UN
I'd like to put them in my non-registered account but would that be tax efficient? Are there any on this list that would be better in an RRSP? Thank you.

Q: Referring to your response that the uptick in PLI is likely related to small cap bounce typical to this time of year; would you trade on that basis? I've got a nice profit and am wondering whether to hold or trade around volatility. Their financial trend is looking good, so I'm not averse to holding either.
Q: Some weeks ago I decided I wanted to buy Fortis and/or Emera. Since then they have been both dropping and I am waiting for them to bottom out. Their chart is horrible for what I consider blue chips. Is this decline based on interest rate fears or is it a general rotation or is there another reason? I favour Emera for income but Fortis for growth so I may split the purchase. Do you have a favourite?
Q: Hi.
Looking for ETF exposure to CDN junior and intermediate sized oil weighted producers and wondering what your favourite pick is. I went through the screening process in a couple of my brokerage accounts but did not find anything that stimulated a buy decision. If you could also offer up your top 3-4 individual stock picks that would meet the criteria that would be appreciated- I might just make my own "mini-fund" instead.
Best Regards

Q: Hi 5i Team
I've been watching CGX from the sidelines and can't get past the persistent high P/E ratio in the face of the struggles that the movie theater industry is going through. I understand that CGX is working hard to diversify and that the have a virtual monopoly on screens in Canada but that doesn't justify the high P/E to me. I'm leaning more toward buying PUTs rather than buying the stock or CALLs.
I'd appreciate your opinion on CGX's current valuation and prospects for next year.
Thanks
Peter

Q: I thought perhaps CGX would gain some $ after Tax Loss Selling. Any reason for the continued selling, for instance today? Or is this to be expected?
As always, Thank You

Q: I would appreciate your opinion on Nutrien Ltd (NTR). Is it a good time to get in now, or is it better to wait a while?

Q: Request 5is view on Caldwell Partners.
How is the company's business model, quality of management and profitability?
The gross margins seem to be good but net margins seem too thin and not sustainable.
How big can they grow? Currently they are at $58 million revenue. Can they scale up or will they remain small company forever?
Does it have potential to attract institutional investors?
Too many questions but Im trying to understand the company because the stocks liquidity and trading is nothing much to speak of. My concern on trading is will this remain a penny stock and later get in to restricted list or get delisted?

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and 5i staff,
For my son's 2018 TFSA contribution, please rank these stocks and one ETF in order of preference: GSY, AVO, TOY, SIS, MX, XEU. He already holds SIS (up 216%), TOY (up 50%), and MX (up 34%). He holds no European stocks and very little outside of Canada, so I think that XEU could achieve some extra diversification, with a further advantage that it's a "commission-free" ETF with Scotia iTrade. Any other suggestions would be most welcome.
His other holdings include BCE, BEP.UN, BNS, CAR.UN, ENGH, GUD, KXS, NFI, PBH, and TRP.
Thanks for such great advice! There's no way we could replicate such results without 5i at our side.

Q: You have recommended BSM Technologies (GPS) recently. Is Bewhere a competitor to GPS? What is your opinion of Bewhere Inc.? If they are both in the same field, which one is a better company?

Q: What is you take on Northwest Healthcare Properties? Seems to be well diversified geographically and a well managed pay out ratio. Would you put this in the medical sector or real estate?
Q: Good morning Peter:
Being a senior over 65 , I treat my TFSA as an extension of my RRSP.
With the market being so high and preservation of capital being important, can you give me three (3 ) dividend stocks that I can add to my TFSA for a secure retirement.
Can you also add your reason for choosing these ( 3 ) dividend stocks.
I presently have only banks in my TFSA and I have done well.
Thank You

Q: I like CIBC because of it's personal mortgage exposure: higher mortgage amounts means more revenue for the bank, also rising rates, a healthy dividend, and great earnings reports. Now that it has more US exposure others seem to like more as well. It has had a good run since I bought at $104. Would now be good time to take these profits or do you see more upside for CIBC?
Q: Your last note on NNO was dated aug 24th ;has there been a change in your out look for 2018 thank you Gary
