Q: Hello Peter & 5i team,
What do you think of VRX's (shall we say, controversial)acquisition? Do we assume that Pearson knows what he is doing?
Thanks,
Antoine
Q: When the principals at phm caused the sudden downdraft there seemed to be a similar downturn in other pharma stocks in a similar market space. I tend to assume that this will not change until PHM reports earnings on a similar pace as last quarter and/or the market figures out that the new CEO has been highly successful in the past and is likely to be a good one here. 3 specific questions. 1. Do you agree with my above general assessment. 2. Does the new CEO hold an interest in the company/is some compensation in stock? 3) when does phm report earnings
?
Q: Despite a remarkable recent earnings report from SLF the stock price is slowly eroding. Is this decline as a result of the concern/decline of the economy in China or it it just market conditions? Please advise. Thank you Phyl
Q: Is DHX a good buy now at $8.32 or is it a bit expensive? The purchase would be for a long term hold of 20 years or more.As always your help is greatly appreciated.

Q: Good Morning! I just renewed my membership for two more years at your special 10% discount rate on the second year, and also at the current price before increases take effect in December. Great deal..... great service.... one very satisfied customer. Thank you!! My question is about XHB. What is your opinion on holding it for income without risking a significant drop in capital value in a rising interest rate environment?
Q: Can I please have your views on the recently reported revenue/income. What is your opinion on the balance sheet and revenue going forward. Thank you Jason.N
Q: What are your thoughts on Kel. I have this week taken a position of about 3% and am prepared to hold for 2/3 years. This is my only exposure to the oil/gas industry.
Q: Which of the following reits do you favor at this time for the combination of dividend safety and capital growth: HR.UN, CAR.UN, REI.UN, SRU.UN? I am contemplating adding two to my RRIF. Thank you, Barrie
Q: What metrics should one use to evaluate this company? The ones available are confounding: forward PE of 243, -75% ROE yet it trades at an all time high (impressive given current conditions). Revenue and Earnings growth doesnt seem that impressive. Is it good value here and if so based on what measure? Would BAM be a comparable company, which is better value? Finally, would you rank OCX as an A or B company? Thank-you.
Q: Hi
I've started to do some early tax loss selling hoping I can buy them back cheaper while banking a "capital loss" in the meantime.
Which ones would you buy back in the fall if in fact we do get to capitulation mode?
CNQ , CVE , CPG , FRU , SU , ERF , HSE , CEU , WCP , PEY , ARX
Q: there is a very informative presentation by paul colbourne at the denver oil and gas conference available by webcast. dividend is more than safe at 40 dollar oil and share buyback starts tomorrow. enercom 360 oilandgas webcast if anyone who owns sgy is interested in watching.
Q: IF, we assume precious metals have bottomed which stocks would favour. SLW, NSU, G, MND or do you have another suggestion. Or would you still keep away from the sector.
Q: Hello Peter,I have some money to invest, I would like to have your opinion of the above w.t.r. to growth, safety in view of future interest increase. Also, if you have better choices for me.
Many thanks, J.P, Burlington
Q: Two questions here (to save sending 2 separate items) - and maybe the answers will differ regarding timing new buys in these 2 sectors.
With most bank stocks and even the better rated energy stocks hovering just above or just below 52 week lows, would you be comfortable buying any of the banks or energy stocks right now or have we not seen "the whites of their eyes" yet?
In an earlier question (I believe) you suggested not buying anything for a couple of weeks.
Would the same apply here?
Thanks. (What a great resource to have in trying to figure out how best to invest).
Q: CODI has been described as a mini-Berkshire Hathaway buying smaller companies, recently selling Camelbak and adding Manitoba Harvest to their portfolio. Being an old fart a hemp based food business strikes me as somewhat fad oriented but a lot of people have made a lot of money off of fads. Trading at a low P/E and a having a yield around 8.7%, what are your thoughts on this company ?
Q: Quite often these days you hear some expert calling for a 10 to 15% correction. What level on the TSX are they using to correct from. January 1, 2015 or the highest level the TSX reached this year or from the level the TSX is at the day the expert financial fortune teller makes the call?
Q: Morning Peter and Team,
Seems AFN has been caught in the current downdraft. (not to mention the western Canadian drought). I purchased the company after your recent report. I'm down 16%. It's dividend is now over 6%. Do you think it's safe. Also, is this the kind of company that can withstand a possible global recession caused by the "China Problem"? What is the downside?
Also, what is your opinion regarding the impact China's economic problems could have on the global economies
As always, thanks for your opinions.
