Q: Good Day to 5I team: With banks trending down I am down about 7% but still with a 4% dividend. With VRIF my core retirement income holding also in a downward trend am down about 5% with a 4% dividend. Would you consider one or the other a sell for tax loss and. Investing proceeds in a 1 year gic at 2.45% to take shelter from what may or may not transpire into a resession and redeploy funds when markets look better? Which do you feel has a better chance of revovery?

Q: I have owned MFC for a number of years and over this period the shares have done absolutely nothing other than the dividend despite general markets that have been quite positive over this period. If that is how the shares performed in good markets what might happen if or when markets weaken. I suspect shares could tank as they’re does not to be a lot of ‘love’ for the company shares. Would appreciate your analysis. Should shares be sold or continue to be held? Could you pleases provide rationale for your position. Thanks.

Fiera Capital Corporation Class A Subordinate Voting Shares (FSZ $6.07)
Q: In an answer earlier this year, you mentioned IGM as having "turned itself around"; did you mean (for example) changes in its business practices, or its break-out from its pre-pandemic trading range? In another answer, you spoke of CIX's "high leverage to capital markets"; how do CIX, FSZ, and IGM compare in this respect? You've characterized the sector as "fairly cheap, with not a whole lot of organic growth and lots of pressure on margins"; given this backdrop (and assuming the sector is even investable), is IGM's relative market cap (3X CIX, 10X FSZ) a material reason to prefer it over the other two? Or is CIX's depressed share price (and implied growth-potential) more decisive?
Q: Read this article in the G&M yesterday https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/article-insurers-face-double-hit-from-new-accounting-rules-and-new-taxes/
Could we get your comments please? And would this change effect your ranking of Canadian insurance companies?
Thank You,
Tim

Brookfield Asset Management Reinsurance Partners Ltd. Class A Exchangeable Limited Voting Shares (BAMR)
Q: You mention in your company report that TSU initially had a relationship with BAM. Do they still have some sort of relationship , for instance marketing channels or shareholding’s ? Is there any chance of TSU and BAMR doing something together ?
Thanks. Derek
Thanks. Derek
Q: Do you see Canadian banks going much lower?
Q: Hi
Is GSY exposed to a higher rate of loan defaults than the scheduled banks? It would seem that GSY takes on riskier clients and will be exposed as people start to default as rates rise. It's taken a beating the last few months. Is that what the market is concerned about?
Thanks,
Robert

Q: Hi
What would be the catalysts needed to get Upstart's stock price to turn around? Could this double and in what time frame? Impossible question I know but if you don't mind taking an educated guess at it? Please don't tell me Elon Musk needs to buy it.
Thanks
Jeremy

Q: I can't understand why GSY iat a 52 week LOW. Yes high growth stocks and NASDAQ are going down. GSY has a PE close to 10. It is a value stock not a crazy growth stock. It is making money and yet it is being treated like a .COM stock.
Easy answer would be, the market thinks recession is coming and GSY will not perform well.
Do you have any explanation for GSY being at a 52 week low despite beating all estimates on quarterly results?
Thanks

Q: Do you think the selling in US banks is overdone? They have really taken a big hit lately. I would think with rising rates, they would be going up instead of dropping. Is this because of the war in Ukraine and their interests in Russia, or are there other factors at play here?
Which one is your favourite right now? I don't own any of them, but am thinking of starting a position.
