Q: Can you comment on Amazon taking another run at SHOP. This one seems more established than the last attempt to replicate. Also throwing it in free for Prime users could be appealing to new business owners. How concerning is this?

Q: Dear 5i,
Roundhill Investments in US just launched a new cannabis ETF called WEED.
Their description says that they may invest in US cannabis companies using Total Return Swaps. I don't understand why they just don't buy the stocks directly instead of using a derivative structure. Can you give me your thoughts?

thanks

Q: me, puzzled that Bell Canada and Hydro One continue to see stock price increases......like I understand there is a dividend tax credit for these two, if the stock is held in a non-registered account, and to a large degree, be able to pass on higher expenses to customers, and also that some folks want "safety".......but isn't this the catch - when interest rates return to a more normalize level, aka higher, the value of these two stocks should decline, right?!.......me, inclined to trim, aka take the gain, or sell outright!........what is your take on this???

Q: Hi Peter and Team;
Thanks for the info and advice on PKI.
I have made a good gain and sold a 5% position in my RRIF.
Could you offer 3 CDN and 3 US that you would be comfortable in starting today with a 2.5 % for long term investing in a well balanced RRIF? Would you lean towards US or CND for GROWTH?
Thanks for the excellent analysis!

Q: These 2 darlings are now ugly ducklings. Not long ago,Shop was the biggest company in Canada overtaking perrinnel leader,RY. Recent drastic drop from $2228 H to $658,1year Low.Any reasons for the 14% haircut today besides news that it is in talks to buy startup,Deliverr. Think market does not like this type of acquistion nowadays as it will likely increase its losses & prolong its plan to profitability in this market backdrop.Is this a entry point or more pain to come. Txs for u usual great services & views Is this an entry point for GSY which got hammered today too & trading near 1yr low.

Q: Wanting to add some large cap growth stocks to my large cap utility, bank, pipeline,infrastructure, portfolio as new money becomes available. Growth seems to be out of favour so am seeing this as a time to buy with a 2 year window.

You often advise waiting for a declining stock to show some strength, or at least to start building a base before stepping in. I find this difficult on 2 aspects. Technically, how do I determine when to buy a declining stock in this market ? Psychologically, I hold off on buying when the stock declines further, thinking the decline will continue, and if the stock moves upward I get get frustrated believing that I missed the boat . Do former “ favourites “ such as the 2 above lose their shine even when the markets recover ? Which of these would you purchase first ?
Thanks. Derek

Q: I own half positions in all three and am trying to decide what to do. Over the past 12 months ENGH has materially underperformed KXS and DSG, so I'm considering dropping it. At this time, do you feel the underperformance gives ENGH a greater potential to rebound, or is it the one to cut while increasing the other two (or adding different name in the sector)?

Thanks
