Q: Please advise which USA and CDN VIX ETF would you recommend. I want to trade VIX for August to September since volatility is high during those months.

Thanks for the great service

Q: I am down about 20% on Pinetree Capitol and wondering if I should hold. When I bought it the plan was for a five year hold (as you suggested as a reasonable timeframe). Does that still sound reasonable or do you think something has changed. The main reason for my purchase was in support of the management team.

Q: Hi Team,
I hold a heavy position in Gsy and Prl both. I do not own any Hood yet. I was debating trimming some Prl to take a position in Hood. Do you think this is a good idea? Do you see the Hood share price outperforming Prl in the next while and long term? Or…is Hood and the whole crypto sector a little over heated right now and might I be better waiting for a pullback before buying Hood?

Thanks,
Shane

Q: My tech holdings have once again climbed to a big part of my portfolio (37%). So it is time to trim/sell some holdings. Can you please rank the above holdings, favorite to least favorite right now. Portfolio allocation recommends 16 %, but i will probably aim for 25-30%. Does that sound reasonable? Tech companies seem to be the ones that are growing the fastest.

Q: Please excuse me, if the question sounds similar to the another member's, recently posted.

Constellation Software stock appears have lost its momentum and continues to struggle move past the $4900-$5000 level, after reaching a high of $5300, a few months ago. The latest results, which are considered solid ( several analysts bumped their price targets ) also seem to have failed to infuse some life in the stock, with a lacklustre price action and stock quickly falling back to its 200 Day MA.

Is CSU stock following the general weakness in software names in US, seen lately?

Also, are there any catalysts. in the near term which could help the shares to break out of its range ?

We have a decent size position 12-15%, in various accounts, with a fairly low cost base and have been waiting to lighten up to 10% ( being quite comfortable with a large weighting ), and raise some cash. Is it worthwhile for stock to regain strength, before we decide to pull the trigger ?

You could address the question, in general. ignoring advice on personal weightings.

Thank you

Q: I know you like this company a lot and it has served me well. It is about 9% of my portfolio and I have been comfortable with it there. As it hasn't done much this last year wondering if I should reduce back to 5-6% and put money into something else. If so what would be your recommendations. (letting it run is also and option)
Thanks for all your solid advice over the years.

Q: Hi, there was a question from Kevin on May 27th. Prices and valuations have changed since then. Could you please give an update to your answer? Thank you!

Q: Looking to open a position in one of the 2 listed companies or others if you have any to recommend. Long term investor with 0 exposure to the real estate sector in the portfolio yet.

Colliers growth projections and better valuation along with positive analysts ratings make it more attractive on the surface. However, I know that you have First Service in the growth portfolio, is there something that I'm missing as to why I should choose FSV before CIGI? Could you please give a breakdown between the two and the reasoning behind choosing one over the other?

Q: Hello 5i team, could you comment on the news about AIF. Were you expecting this end game? At this juncture, after selling a subsidiary last year? Who could be potential buyers? Brookfield? What range of price would you expect for a privatization? How long do you expect it will take to have news about a formal takeover over offer based on Tuesday’s news that the process has already begun? What is the probability that the current process initiated by the company will conclude on the sale of the company? Thank you for your collaboration

Q: Hi 5i team,

In "Summer Investment Wisdom: Five Mistakes to Avoid" by Peter, it is stated, "If a stock declines while fundamentals are improving, it is usually worth buying." Do you think PayPal and Adobe fit the bill?

Best,
Matt
