Q: What do you think of this holding for my sons FHSA? I would say he will deploy the money to buy a house within 5yrs. so a conservative investment is important. He has a total of $11000 to invest after a previous 5% yeilding GIC expired. Do you have any other suggestions? Thank you. John
Q: Hi,
What's your opinion on BCE given the the Ziply acquisition and the macro picture?
Also, would you suggest a top 5 for Canada and top 5 for the US. I am looking for "quick and dirty" gains.
Cheers,
David

Q: With rich valuations in the market and inflation poised to move higher on tariff deals, what would be your asset mix to preserve capital while seeking a modest total return of around 4%?
Q: Jacobs Solutions Inc J:NYSE
In you opinion would this company be a buy right now?

Q: I want to warn the world of the CRA's plan to tax people "to death" . We were all seduced into avoiding taxation through contributing to our RRSP. Now at retirement it has grown into a substantial tax liability.
My RIFF just keeps on growing every year .
I can't even give my RIFF to charity without it being taxed as income. "Gambling" on high risk Ai stocks has resulted in massive gains with a higher taxable drawdown .
Is there anything people can do ? It's like being in a taxi going the wrong way through a very long tunnel .

Q: I was under the impression this ETF didn't pay distributions. Though actually, it does say on its site that it pays them annually. It just doesn't give any idea how much that might be. On my TD Webroker account, though, under projected income it has $2,381.86 for my 290 shares of DXG. That suggests a distribution of over 10%, which I find HIGHLY unlikely given the nature of its underlying holdings. Could you please clear this up for me?
Q: Does investing today in a China Large Cap ETF make sense to achieve diversification away from the US markets?
Q: CCO is currently at its high. Do you think it still has room to grow?
Q: Hi 5i
With Chipolte down by the price of a small taco today (45.45, down $7) does it still look expensive to you? I'm in no rush to buy but wonder if you have a suggestion as to a decent entry point. And any comments on new CEO?
Thanks, Greg

Q: Hi 5i
I used to watch and trade MX (45.64) and looked at it again today. It seems to be quite bouncy so recent pullback is tempting me. I notice CEO Rich Sumner has been accumulating shares at prices $49 to $58 (from G&M site). Is there any reason that it tends to swing so much? Approx. what % of revenue comes from Europe and do you see any catalyst that could cause a pop?
Thanks, Greg

Q: Using DRIP is new to me so please explain in simple words.
First let me ask :How often do XEF pay distribution?
Second question I see it on my statement as being interest is it not supposed to be dividend?
For a third question, in a drip situation I see a - sign for say -$1000 and a + say $1100. What does that - operation mean in term of tax application. What amount is beeing taxed?
Thank you to continue educating us DIY investors

Q: GSY went from a darling to relatively flat, while PRL continues on a tear. Do you still recommend GSY with the same enthusiasm/do you expect it to resume its upward path, and would you advise PRL instead at this point?
Thank you,
Peter

Q: Hi, is it ever wrong to own a company and its proxy? For example, KXS and DSG. Is it a zero sum game where owning both will cancel out gains? Or can they grow together? Is it advised to just pick the one you have the most conviction in, or perhaps a half position for both (in general)?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: I am cleaning up some long held names providing income only. D.UN has a capital loss in a RRSP which I had hoped to recoup. In the past you have recommended D.UN. Do you see any reason to keep it? I have very little real estate.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Q: As a follow up to Connie’s question this morning on cyclical holdings. I find myself with the same risk tolerance and time horizon as specified in the question.
I am extremely underweight the sector, if I am correct In assuming that cyclicals are comprised of materials and energy.
In accordance with your advice, I would like to increase my exposure to these sectors. Ideally 5 positions with 2% weightings, each. What are your highest conviction names currently? I already have a 2% holding in AEM.
Thank you.
