Q: In the company profile, ERE is noted as being "unincorporated". I am curious if that is significant; for example are their reporting/accounting held to less rigorous scrutiny compared to an "incorporated" company? Also ERE has a +9% dividend but is a new kid on the block - less than a year. The high dividend was there from start. Is this a sign management over reaching - like trying too hard to be noticed? Can ERE maintain it? What is their payout ratio. I have no European exposure, but thinking a small position here is doable...………..Thanks, and all the best in 2019...….Lionel

Q: With new TFSA money available I am considering bringing these companies from a 3.5% position to a full 5% position. Any concerns or cautions?

Q: Good Morning
I was considering transferring a stock holding from an investment account to my TFSA. There is no tax implication.

In your opinion, regardless of what equity you may buy or transfer into your TFSA and discounting the tax implication of transferring a security from an RRSP, would it not be better overall to add new money to a TFSA? Just thinking I would be better off overall to build my total investments in the market rather than switching my holdings around?
Thank you

Q: Happy New Year.
I allocated 20% of my US holdings for high yield investments but want to avoid the tax implications of CEF/MLPs. Is there an ETF that you could recommend that covers this part of the market that eliminates the tax implications?

Q: Dear Peter et al:
Happy New Year to all of you.

I have executed my New Year resolution!
No, not my new fancy diet or paying for a fancy gym membership!
Contributed 12 k (6k each for wife and I) towards TFSA for 2019!
The question is how and when should I buy safe, steady growth Canadian stocks with dividends.
Anything that you feel fits these criteria?
Just 2 stocks would be fine.

Q: What is your latest view on the performance of this etf. So far it appears to me that it has handled the latest downturn quite effectively when compared to the return of the tsx. I have been thinking of using this etf for the income portion of my portfolio. Would that be a good idea or would I be better off using bond etfs for the income portion? Tnx for the help.

Q: My portfolio closely resembles your Balanced Equity model. Last year in January I rebalanced to match, reasonably, the allocations of that model at that rime. Is that a good idea now? Are you planning a rebalance soon?
