Q: I have been thinking about buying NFI but I am hesitant to do so with the advent of a possible competitor

Q: I have noticed SVI has tumbled from $2.60 to the $2.25 range lately.
I hold it as a small component in my TFSA (8%),
and am contemplating adding to my portfolio.
Would you recommend buying more at this level?
For a 1-3 year time horizon.

Q: Hello, this is about NFI debt levels. According to my online broker's website, the NFI Debt/Equity = 0.7 but I can't find the debt-to-cash flow ratio. A) Is the NFI Debt/Equity of 0.7 too high? B) What is their debt-to-cash flow ratio? Regards, Gervais

Q: I am considering realizing some capital gains now at the 50% tax rate in case there is an increase to say 75% in the fall federal budget. How and when will I get more info on the fall budget? Will there be an announcement at some point?

Q: Trying to make a decision to buy a small amount (2.5% weighting) in Cominar. Some points:

The 11% yield is or is not covered by cash flow? Ross Healy on BNN says it is and gave it a top pick.

It has so so buildings in Quebec but does seem to be turning them around. A family owns 5%.

Analysts seem to think that if they cut the distribution (to a probable 6-7%0 the stock would go UP.

Is it a buy? Any other factors I am not considering? Thanks

Q: Hello
Could you please tell me averaged over time what has returned more to an investor dividends or share price (broad market). Or worded another way how much money is paid out in dividends and how much is from share price increase. More of an economics of the stock market question. Is there a value? Example on average $2Billion is paid in dividends and $2Billion is share price increases. This question pertains to the TSX but are all stock markets similar in their returns. Thank You
