Q: Hello 5 I,

Just wondering the best avenue to invest it Bitcoin or Etherium directly. I dont want to do the whole wallet route and want to hold in my brokerage account. With that said is there a product that directly moves with the ETH and Bitcoin? Are either of them buys in your eyes? Thanks

Q: I am really surprised with your answer to Steven on March 3 about Berkshire, especially "In other words, we wouldn't necessarily want to give BRK a weighting that is materially higher than the typical stock in a portfolio." Shouldn't BRK be treated similarly to an ETF with 40+ quality holding plus private equity? You recommend S&P500 ETF as an alternative... well, there are a lot of investors who want their portfolio to be properly balanced and don't want to hold 33% in technology stocks. BRK-B is much better balanced and stable than S&P500. It also delivered better returns over the past year and 5 years despite the technology boom. Some of us still remember dot com bust of 2001...

At what price point would you say Alphabet, Oracle and PHYS.CA are screaming buys. If it is easier you can use the price of gold in US instead of PHYS. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Q: Is it concerning that NVDA had really good results (but not good enough) and the market is selling off? When all the good news is baked into prices and there's nothing stock earnings can do to impress the markets, is it time to get defensive? Is it more tariff and recession related? The 10 yr is down to 4.3% so you would think it's good for equities that rates are coming down, but if the reason for the decline is because we are expecting a recession, it's not good. I'm not really panicking but portfolio is mainly growth oriented and there are signs that the market is rolling over due to excessive valuation and a whole lot of other worries. Any advice on how we should be positioning or getting more defensive? Thanks!

You aren't tax experts and this isn't a tax forum - but to the extent you can answer please:

If Canadians own shares in USD on the US side of their brokerage account in US companies, such as Google and Microsoft, and the COST of those shares exceeds $100,000 CAD, is that Canadian required to file Form T1135 with the CRA?

Alternatively, if a Canadian owns a CDR for Google, for example, on the TSX in CAD, and that COST exceeds $100,000, does that Canadian need to file a Form T1135?

Q: Hi 5i,
What's your best choice for an ETF to park some money in a safe place that will get better returns than a high interest savings account. Previously I had some in the ETF CASH but I understand that some governmental changes have resulted in these types of ETFs delivering lower return than previously.
