Q: We are down about 15% from the peak of the S&P 500. I have about 5% of my portfolio in USD cash to deploy. Would you advise going a fifth of my cash for every 3% further fall in the S&P 500? I have enough Google and Meta, but was looking at JPM and Apple. Any other US names you can suggest?

Q: I've been reading a lot about what retirees should do in this environment and most people suggest, have a cash wedge you're comfortable with and keep the balance of your portfolio in the market.

That seems reasonable to me if you have a portfolio. Have you an idea of what percentage of the general public has investments? Are we just talking to a privileged few? Thanks

Q: According to Yahoo Finance average vulume for Canada is 1.2 million shares and for the US IT IS 5.5 million shares per day. Where did 5i get your numbers from?

Q: Which tax loss proxies would you suggest for the following companies?
Are there some that you would rather stay in cash for a month or just sell out right and buy something unrelated?
I am a bit hesitant to sell BN,GOOG and AMZN for a tax loss as I feel they have the most bounce potential on good news. What do you think of that?

Q: Hi 5i,

Most of the MAG7's charts show a "Death Cross" pattern. Please rank which would be the most attractive to purchase for a 5+ year hold. Your answer can also include other companies that have exhibited this pattern. Looking for big caps, mostly US. Thx.

Is it possible you could comment on the Gold sector including all the various inputs that are at play now for the metal, what indicators one should look out for that it’s over valued, signs to look for to reduce holdings before correction begins etc and forecast where you think it’s heading in 2025 and onward a few years?

Q: Would the Blackrock Corporate High Yield Fund be appropriate for an otherwise reasonably well-diversified equity-oriented dividend portfolio in the current market environment? Q: Hi,
I bought this to hedge against the kind of correction that one is witnessing right now! As part of my non-correlated asset. BUT it has been dropping almost as much as the market. Today, Monday April 21st 2025) it is down 3.14 % as I type this question, nearly the same as the market! And yet my Canadian utilities are holding steady. (H,EMA,FTS).
Can you suggest about 3-5 US Utilities that hopefully will act similar to Canadian utilities. To act as non-correlated asset?
