Q: CJ is up almost 8 per cent today. Can't find any news. Stockhouse, bnn, company website don't seem to have any news. Anything on your radar? I believe CJ will have strong first quarter results. If the stock pops on that news I will get out of CJ. What are your thoughts on this junior , Canadian oil weighted company?

Q: Hello Peter and Ryan,
First Capital is a small trust with market cap of 125M (based on WSJ info). Yesterday, it announces 266 M purchase/co-ownership with First Capital Realty.
Jan 9, 2019 Crombie Reit anounced a sale of 104M ish to the group.
Questions:
Is FCD.UN a good investment today for a 10 years horizon?
Do you think that this can be a step to turn First Capital Realty to a REIT? or a planned merger of all First Capital assets into 1?

My annual membership will end soon, a day before my BD so I always remember to give myself a gift of membership in support of the last independent advisor for DYI.

Q: Portfolio Analytics:
1) The suggested portfolio recommends 3 US ETF's, can you recommend alternates that are traded on the TSX. They are RYT, VOX and XLY.
2) Will the system at some point suggest individual stocks instead of ETF's

Q: I am managing an rdsp with the following holdings: abt, bce, cm, csu, enb, otex, pbh, rpd and sis. I have some cash to invest - can you please recommend some shares to add or should I increase some of my holdings? (They are fairly equal). If I add some shares - it would 1 or 2. Q: Cormark Securities analyst David McFadgen dropped his target for Great Canadian Gaming Corp. (GC-T), calling its financial disclosures related to its Greater Toronto Area (GTA) “troubling developments.” With a “reduce” rating, his target dipped to $41 from $44. The average on the Street is $56.80.

What are the financial disclosures that McFadgen is referring to?

Q: Further to your reply to Andrew, it would seem that the continued distribution is reliant on the volatility of its marijuana stock holdings, and particularly the market’s opinion of the overvaluation of the holdings.

I would assume that the unit value is similarly based on that assumption. That is to say that this fund’s purpose and value is as a shorter.

Is this a reasonable analysis? Why would I want to invest here and pay the 0.75% fee, as opposed to shorting the holdings directly?

Q: According to the Asset Allocator, I am considerably underweight in the financial sector. I hold the above stocks, and they are about 3% of my portfolio [balanced income]. I hold a lot of cash at the moment. What would you recommend that I add, to increase my weighting in this sector to the recommended 17%. I am 72 with pensions, and do not need the income.
