Q: Can you expand on the recent question on WELL. How good a company is it for a growth investor? It recently traded up to $5 but has back off to around $4.40. Is this a good point to buy? Where do you see it over the next 12 months? What are the catalysts that define company performance? It has been recommended by 5i, how strong is this conviction?

Q: Portfolio Cleanup Part 1:
I have needed to do this for a long time. These are a list of securities I have that are within a 15% profit or loss of where I purchased them.
Which ones to do see as an Add, Hold or Sell. Can you provide a short reason why for each. Thanks

Q: Hello,
Topicus, lately is showing solid momentum, with stock hitting an all time high, Today. On the other hand, Lumine has lagged behind, specially after the recent results. Do you believe that this divergence in stocks behaviour is temporary or it is signalling any longer term concerns for the latter ?
Also, based on their current valuation, does it make one more attractive than the other . in the near term and what would be the price points to accumulate ?
Thank You

Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited Cumulative 5-Year Rate Reset Preferred Shares Series E (FFH.PR.E)
Q: I know I'm being lazy. However, can you help me to understand, when share prices are not too different ($17.80 vs $17.05), why would someone purchase the "E" series rather than the "F" series.
It seems to occur with a number of companies, a wide disparity on the dividend yields paid within their PR's sphere of series. Just interest rates at the time of origin or re-set dates?

Q: I purchased DND back when it was in your portfolio, you have since dropped it, I still hold a small share. What is your opinion now with the two recent acquisitions and Engine Capital (approx 7% owner) not overly pleased.
Thank you
Jim

Q: My question on the (former?) ETF XOUT. I held it not too long ago, but sold it. I've made the decision to re-invest in this ETF for the long term, but see that it seems to no longer exists. Do you know what happened to it?
It invested in the US large cap index subtracting any companies that would not do well in a future of disruption. If it no longer exists, is there any type of ETF like this available out there?

Q: Given the announcement today of BCE selling its interest in MLSE, the market seems to be reacting somewhat positively to the news - I’m curious as what do you think is a comfortable level of debt that the market is looking for? How much more assets do you think the market would like BCE to shed and apply to debt reduction??
Q: Thanking you for your advice on Karora Resources - a tidy profit , and now I own shares in Westgold after the takeover . When will you update your data on this company ? Nothing of real value on your website at present .
From company press releases the company has a market cap of some 2 billion or thereabouts , and expects to produce 400,000 + ounces of gold in 2025 . Expects significant financial savings from the takeover of Karora . Appears to be a real gem of a company . Do any analysts follow it ?

Q: In the company profile of Broadcom (AVGO), we see a Dividend yield of 12.92%. Is that really 12.92% annually? Such a dividend is certainly not common in the tech industry. Why is it so high compared to other tech companies? Thank you

Q: Could you please comment on the Aug 28th Q2 2024 Results for Redishred Capital Corporation (KUT). A search of your past answers to queries on the company have indicated a problem with liquidity and earnings growth. Cormark has bumped it's target price slightly to $6.00 which is almost double the current share price and wondering if anything has changed..

Q: Hi 5i,
I accumulate cash in my TFSA until I have enough to purchase a meaningful position in a stock. What are some good options you'd recommend for holding the cash in to generate interest while it accumulates?
Thanks for all you do -

Exchange Income Corporation (EIF)

Harvest Tech Achievers Growth & Income ETF (HTA)
-
WELL Health Technologies Corp. (WELL)
-
Lumine Group Inc. (LMN)
Q: My TFSA is roughly equal parts EIF, LMN, and WELL. MY TFSA is roughly 5 % of total reg. and non registered accounts. I am retired and have used my TFSA for more growth orientated stocks; with limited success. I am looking to replace these stocks ( which I also hold in other accounts ) , with HTA. I hold HTA in other accounts as well. HTA gives me access to 20 of the largest tech stocks and an 8% return which I receive every month ( important to a retiree ). Am looking at doing this in stages with EIF first and then the other two depending on fundamentals, relative value, etc.
Would you do this in stages or in one shot recognizing that I own these in other accounts ?
Your thoughts of HTA as a single holding in a TFSA to be representing 8 % of total portfolios ?
Thanks. Derek

Q: Would you buy a full position in BN and CSU today or would you do it incrementally over the next few months and wait for a potential pullback?
