Q: Recently I have noticed a high level of insider buying at ECN. Is that the case based on your data? This looks to me like a strong sign from management. I am currently at break even so thinking of adding some more.

Q: I’m down 40 percent on SNAP. Is this a buying opportunity? What is your outlook/thoughts on snap for the next 5 years?

Q: I bought this co when it was trading 25% less than it is today. However a chart would tell you that it was way up there over the past year.
It is very profitable and I can see no problem with it, other than the u.s./china tariff issue. What is your opinion should I hold, fold or buy more.

Q: Interest rates (as reflected in the 10 year U.S. T-bond) are up again today.
Canadian term deposit rates are at the same time starting to make me feel all pink and fuzzy. Over the last while I've started to build a ladder of rate reset preferred shares (5 yr with a floor) mixed with term deposits of varying durations, and at the same time moving slowly out of common stocks except for special situations. Good idea or too short-sighted?

Q: I have just received shares and warrants for Australis Capital associated with a purchase of the latter firm by Aurora Cannabis. Australis Capital identifies and invests in the cannabis industry predominately in the United States, a highly regulated, fragmented, fast growing and evolving industry. Investments may include and are not limited to equity, debt or other securities of both public and private companies, financings in exchange for royalties or other distribution streams, and control stake acquisitions.

Q: With the yield over 10% the board must be considering a dividend cut, even if they can afford the current dividend. If the market gives the current dividend no respect cut it in half and the price will probably not move and they can use the money elsewhere. Where would you put the odds of a dividend cut?

Q: Is there a ETF that is short Marijuna sector? I keep hearing the sector is a bubble and want to short the sector. What do you think?

Q: My daughter is 51 years old, and has just sold a rental property for a profit of 240,000. She does not have a pension, though her husband does. She would like to invest the money in a conservative way, so as to not lose sleep, but would like to use this as her own pension in a few years time. How should she proceed?

I hold ACB. What is the fair value for the Australis shares and warrants I have just received? At one point today they were trading @ 15.00 and now at $3.00. Seems an opportunity lost to liquidate these at a high valuation? What would you advise at this point holding both the warrants and new shares of Australis. Pp

I've FSZ in my trading account. It has not been performing well for a while. I am thinking of switching FSZ to AD. I am looking for growth in share value and growth in dividend. Do you agree with this switch? I would not be having both FSZ and AD as my % of financial stock is high. Thanks.

Everything is up from initial purchase (many thanks) but some have grown much faster than others. I am considering rebalancing and/or adding a new position. Is there a notable position that you would add/remove (e.g, VUN in exchange for equities)? I have VXC and VCN in my RRSP so maybe VUN is better located in there.

Q: I've been to the AmazonGo cashierless store in Seattle and it is very cool. (This is the cashierless variety store where you just put stuff in your bag and walk out). It is the future. I saw yesterday that someone was mentioning or leaking that they plan 3000 stores in the near future. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-09-19/amazon-is-said-to-plan-up-to-3-000-cashierless-stores-by-2021 .
There are several companies working on this cashierless technology including Microsoft for Walmart.
Should ATD.B be worried about this? Or I am thinking that Cashierless technology will be an adopted technology by all and will simply be a monthly software bill to the retail business.
I own Amazon and bought more after returning from visiting the AmazonGo.
Any thoughts?

Q: Hi Team, came across this Mutual Fund (TDB220 T.D. U.S. BLUE CHIP EQUITY FUND).
With the tools available to me through my discount broker and other charting sites, I ran a comparison, using SPY, VTI, IWF and MAW108 as references, TD references this fund to the Russell 1000 growth index. It clearly shows it has out performed the other names. At 2.40% M.E.R is this fund worth considering as part of an overall strategy? Is there something I'm missing when looking at the results of the comparisons? Thank-you in advance. Sam
