Q: Trying to understand recent moves of TFII. It continues to drift lower but analysts are posting reports with buy recommendations well over current price. Can you shed light on what, if any relationship, there is between stock price and analyst recommendations and target prices? I know its not a linear relationship but what?
Q: I don't understand. MRC does over $1 bil in rev, has only 11 mil shares, never issues more; yet pays almost no div, has a lousy ROE and the current stock price of $110 is almost as low as ever. Yet it has a tangible book value of $355, over 3x it's stock price. That's just weird. Why isn't the price much higher? Is it so badly run that no one wants to pay for that value? Help me understand the issue(s) here please. Thanks so much.
Q: Which stock would you rather own for the next 5 to 10 years, IMO or TOU? Thanks
Q: I did increase lately the % of utilities ( stocks+ETF) in my portfolios ( up to 38%) , since 1) the entry price seems ok ,2) utilities should maintain long term dividends for revenue ,3) they should resist more than other sectors in case of bear or volatile markets,4) still have some capital appréciation potential. What is your point of vue ? many thanks..
Q: This is an extremely small position that I took a flier on as I believe helium sourcing from Canada would be a good opportunity in a market characterised by uncertainty and geopolitical risk (as >1/2 of helium comes from geopolitically-sensitive areas).
The stock in the last couple of weeks has just tanked - any reason for this? It's been so drastic the drop so I'm curious. I have <$1k invested but super curious to know what's happening.

Q: How would you rate PLC for recovery? Thank you
Q: I own ecn.db.b in an RRSP account for income. Would you have concerns that ECN will be able to continue to provide semi-annual payments on this debenture?

Q: I currently only own TD bank and would like to add another 1-2 stocks to the financial sector? What are your top picks for this. It is for a RRSP with at least 20 years before retirement.
Thanks

Q: Further to Glen's question regarding Apple making up 50% of BRK's portfolio, is it not 50% of its 'public-market' holdings, but if you included its fully-owned holdings, such as Geico, its Class-A rail holding, along with its vast re-insurance business, that the Apple holding, in and of itself, drops substantially in weighting?
Q: Hi 5I:
On April 29 PHIL asked about a pipeline company. I think he is looking for Tidewater midstream and Tidewater renewables.
Thanks, BEN.

Q: Your comment on the tax issue regarding Ed’s question today regarding selling ENB to buy another pipeline is bang on. There are several considerations: for a stock to rise 25% to make the switch profitable is quite a challenge and may take years to accomplish ; the 2% differential in yield between ENB and PPL is a ( almost guaranteed) benefit received every quarter, not down the road when sold ; higher growth does not necessarily mean higher share price. Trades like this should only occur when something fundamentally and significantly has negatively happened to the company as many stocks in a sector correlate quite closely to one another. Please shot holes in my discussion. Thanks. Derek.
Q: Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a good base metals mine, who pays a dividend, for a long term hold. I have been leaning towards BHP, but would rather avoid the USD exposure. Who would you recommend?
Thanks,

Q: Hi,
We own both Atd (3% position)and PKI (1% position). Which is the better company going forward? I am thinking about selling PKI and buying more Atd and maybe also adding to ENB(2% position) All these companies have had sizeable pull backs. Just trying to figure out what has the best potential going forward. No tax implications.
Thanks,
Kerri

Q: Hi,
Long time share holder of Zoetis with a current portfolio weight of 2%. With this pull back is it a good opportunity to add? Or do you feel it is still expensive with the risks of medication side effects affecting business?
Thanks,
Kerri
