Q: Hi Peter and team :
Do you have the DH new evaluation ?.
Do you think that gold will keep going up ?, what will be the catalyst that could trigger a reversal in this price run up ?
thanks for your good service

Q: Peter and team:
I am currently down about 20% on TFI in a well balanced long term hold portfolio.
I am considering cutting my losses and buying NFI. Would you consider these in the same "sector", and what is you opinion of this switch.
My concern is how much upside is left in NFI. I have owned it in my kids RESP and done well (2.5x), but am wondering how much "growth" is left.
Than you as always for a great service!
Phil

Q: Hi,
You added NFI with a 2.5% weighting. Would you be comfortable recommending someone add it as a full position (ie. 4%)
Thanks

Q: Hi Peter
Don't publish this if you don't think it is appropriate.
Last night I went to the Cineplex and bought tickets for the new Tarzan movie. It was in 3-D and had the new D-Box technology. The two tickets cost $43.00 without food or drink.
I found the seat jerking up and down and sideways very annoying. Probably just me, but if anyone is thinking of investing in the technology they should go try it out first. Luckily I could turn it off. Good, fun movie otherwise.

Q: Hello,
RCH has moved up nicely, presumably in anticipation of recent earnings. Can you please comment on their numbers and provide thoughts on the company going forward. You have considered it to be somewhat expensive in the past and wondered if this is still the case. I own it and plan to hold. Would you agree?
Thanks

Q: They seem to have done a good job of cleaning up the balance sheet of late ie debt reduction. Cash flow is improving and will get to positive in awhile. Some analysts think it has a decent upside. What do you think? Time for a position? Thanks.
Q: Please comment on Q2 earnings. Thanks!
Q: Hi,
Im looking to pick up some utility sector. Which of these would you recommend for long term continual investment. Dividends will also be reinvested through DRIP if available.
Thanks

Q: CXR announced FDA approval for NEW PHOTOFRIN LASER on June,30th,2016 has approved the Co.'s premarket approval application (PMA) for its new Photofrin 630 PDT Laser to attack cancer cells. I consider this approval to be rather significant, however nobody even mention it on BNN.
Q: With regard to a question earlier relating to CZO 30%rise in price, it must be either on the 5th or 6th July, a BNN Market Call Guest was very excited when he recommended this Co. as one of his top picks. He was a first time Guest and the reason for his top choice was Czo has the patent for extracting something from the Oats and etc. I think my co-member can obtain this info from BNN.
Q: I own the Paramount 2019 bonds. In the press release there is a paragraph about the 2019 notes. The redemption option is pretty straight forward. Could you explain the consent to keep the bonds part.
After the deal Paramount will have more cash/assets than debt, even though it's 3 years away, it seems they'll likely be able to pay back the principal, I'm leaning towards keeping the bonds. Would you agree?

Q: Hi Team,
I posted a question about Brookfield Business Partners yesterday (July 6) and did not get a reply.
My question is: What is your opinion of BBU.UN's business model and their financial strength? Would you happen to know their dividend distribution?
Regards,
Danny

Q: Further to Eugene's question about BNN guests, why would guest choose to appear? Is it similar to real estate agents hosting open houses to drum up more clients for themselves?
Q: I recently wanted to purchase additional TD bank shares but found that I was holding cash in my US trading account. Do you have any advise regarding the holding of such investments ( Canadian large cap stocks ) in a U S account. Is there a downside in different trading activity or divident treatment ?

iShares 1-5 Year Laddered Corporate Bond Index ETF (CBO)
-
Vanguard Canadian Aggregate Bond Index ETF (VAB)
Q: Hi Team,
I was hoping you could help explain something. I own a five-year corporate bond ladder. This year to date the value of my bonds have fallen 0.91% (which on its own is fine as I hold the bonds to maturity). I am unclear why my bonds would underperform VAB (up 3.56%) and CBO (down 0.16%) in the same timeframe.
I realize VAB has a longer duration on average than my ladder or CBO. Credit quality may be better in both funds, and mine are typically in the BBB range. But is there any other reason why bond funds should outperform specific bonds in a ladder? Is there a scenario where a bond ladder will outperform the bond funds?
Finally, is there any advantage to owning bonds in a ladder at all?
Thank you. Michael

Q: I have been wanted to diversify my portfolio and I was wondering if this is a good list or a bit of overkill. I have recently bought some XBB. I want these for fairly long positions, my concern is that I might be over paying for these as everyone is fearful and flocking to bonds as a safety net. Would it be wise to let things settle or buy partial positions in these etfs. Also would it worthwhile also owning some us long term treasuries. I am looking to try to cover all possibilities so I am not chasing in the future when market conditions change. I would like diverse group to cover inflation, rising market, recession. I know that I cant take all risk off but I would like have some safety net and not hold all equities.
Q: Hi, PBH announced their plans to build new sandwich facility in Phoenix USA at an appx cost of USD 29 mln. It is expected to be operational in 2017. What are the implications of this development with respect to company's revenue and earnings ? Stock seems to have reacted favorably to news. Thnaks
