Q: Hi team,
I go to the U.S. largely for tech, as you likely know from my questions. I have a small (for me) position in ROKU. I have some profits in TTD that I am now considering using to top up ROKU. There were always a mix of opinions on ROKU but now it seems that analysts are warming up to it. ROKU is moving away from hardware sales and more into platform services or a gateway for over the top services. Some analysts are saying it is gaining a lot of traction, picking up advertising dollars and is currently undervalued.
As an aside, late last week, Citron closed its short position and went long on ROKU. I hate all these guys when they are shorting my stocks but for some reason I don’t find them so bad when they go long. Citron also says that ROKU would make a nice tidy acquisition for NFLX to get into the advertising space where it is now lacking. I have SPOT as well if NFLX goes the musical route but am wondering about your views on the prospects for ROKU from here?
Thanks again,
dave

Q: I own a taxable portfolio that is focused on Canadian stocks that have a track record and plan to grow dividends. Over the last 9 years my portfolio has seen dividend growth of about 6% per year with very low taxes thanks to the Dividend Tax Credit. To get geographic diversification I have looked to the underlying assets and revenues of the companies. So while my portfolio is composed of 100% of Canadian listed stocks - the underlying assets/revenues are about 50% Canadian and 50% US/International. Do you think that this is a reasonable way to look at diversifying geographically - in the event of a weakening CAD should this help CAD returns (and hurt returns if CAD strengthens)??
Thanks
Thanks

Q: Hi, I see Vector Vest has Th, rated high on their list. What is your opinion of the stock?
Q: hi folks:
i was always led to believe that reits are a group that falls into 'interest sensitive' assets
and they would get hammered in an increasing interest rate environment
hasn't happened and many are at all time highs
is this because the hope that inflation will raise rents/values to offset increased interest payments?
or because raising rates indicate an improving economy?
or because rates are increasing very slowly
or because we feel the rate increases are finished?
or what?
thx

Q: I eventually will be bringing each of these stocks up to a full position. Can you suggest in what order I should do this as cash becomes available?
Q: Along the same lines as my previous question about FNMA, does SLM (Sallie Mae) offer superior quality? Conceptually, I am optimistic for its prospects, given the state of the interest rate; however, it was "tarred with the same brush as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac" at one time. Is it an Investment or, more properly, a speculation at this point?
Q: Greetings,
I see you believe ISRG to be one of the best managed companies in the US. I take that as a strong recommendation! Are they managed similar to CSU ie they don’t issue stock and the executives are made to purchase company shares? They appear to have little competition so I conclude they must develop their own technology instead of buying other companies to acquire their technology. How would you asses their growth - is it driven primarily due to organic growth or acquisitions? They appear to have a large cash hoard - are they buying back shares, planning to introduce a dividend or keeping it in reserve for acquisitions? You note growth is likely to be muted for the next 2 to 3 years so, all things being equal, is it reasonable to expect the share price to languish for the next 24 months or so?
Thanks
Jim

Q: Hi,
What's your take on this REIT. The almost 10% dividend yield sure looks attractive. Is the cash-flow sustainable?
Thank you.
