Q: I look at the Fair Value published by Mornngstar for stocks. I noticed that the published values almost change daily. Why? What triggers the volatility of the values? Thanks.

Q: Just curious if you have done any research on the company Knight acquired (Biotoscana)? With Latin America and Brazil in particular being hit hard by Covid I’m thinking for the next number of quarters they may not be particularly accretive to earnings (and that might be the best case scenario). I know that you do engage management from time to time of companies you cover, have you picked up any concerns from Knight itself?

Q: Hi Everyone at 5i! I own shares of BPY.un and HR. un. HR cut its dividend but still offers a dividend of over 6%. BPY has a higher dividend which it has not cut yet. Can you suggest some non-Bond type Canadian traded ETF's that might have similar performance characteristics to a short term Canadian bond ETF. I am hoping you may be able to suggest some relatively low risk Canadian ETFs that have a little income with minimal chance of capital loss.

You kindly answered a recent question of mine re: minimizing risk of U.S. estate taxes (I am high net worth investor). I posed the question of emerging markets exposure, and asked you to compare VWO (U.S. situs) versus ZEM (Canadian situs); and you recommended ZEM for avoiding U.S. situs investment. My follow-up question has to do with making a comparison between VEE (the Vanguard Canada emerging markets fund) and ZEM. My understanding is that all ETFs registered to Vanguard Canada (such as VEE) are considered "Canadian situs" investments, even though they hold investments outside of Canada. So here are my two questions:
1. In a comparison between ZEM and VEE, would you recommend one over the other (the goal is Canadian situs investment within my RSP for long-term emerging markets exposure, at least 5 to 10 years).
2. In general, how can one most easily determine whether a security-- whether ETF or individual stock--is Canadian or U.S. situs investment (for estate planning purposes)?
