Q: Hello,
Once a while 5i Research Blog has posted some articles from Mr. Nick Mccallum. I am wondering how is his Sure Dividend track records. Does 5i Research endorse Nick Mccallum’s recommendations. Like most recent one, he give 5 best dividend stocks in S&P 500 (IVZ, AMAT, T, WBA, CAH) to buy. I would like to know your thought for these 5 stocks. To me the wording sounds promotional.

Q: Re: Your 3 portfolios
-Why not list companies in the growth portfolio in alphabetical order as they are in the balanced & income portfolios?
-Why not show the date of the 1st purchase in the since inception return so there is a better idea of the true rate of return?
I don't consider High Artic, Raging River & Trevali as growth stocks as they are tied too closely to commodity prices.Why not replace them with better growth stocks such as Premium Brands, Savaria ,etc?

Q: I am thinking of switching a high fee low performing global mutual fund to a lower fee ETF to try to improve performance while maintaining global exposure for the long term.

Q: Visa isabout my largest holding (about 10%). I have no real concern about V however considering trimming V and adding to Apple or Amazon I don't own. appreciate your advice

Q: Unfortunately, I inherited this penny stock a few years ago. The latest news release looks like all smoke and mirrors. Essentially the company is selling one of the companies under its AAO (Foxtek) to another company that the CEO runs (Mooncor). I know this is a penny venture stock but could I get an opinion it just looks very fishy and its all promises of future earnings and shareholders will benefit down the road. Is this common? It looks like he is doing something that we only see on the Venture exchange.

Q: Hi,
From previous Q&As, you recommend DIR.UN as a solid replacement for AAR.UN. Does that still stand? It's had quite a run-up this year.

I read an article in the globe a few days ago mentioning that this was one of the top performing Canadian listed ETFs. What are your thoughts on this sector and this ETF particularly? If one were going to purchase, would a hedged or unhedged version perform better in the long term?

Q: Greetings! I need to buy some safe dividend growth stocks for income, and a very long term hold. I already own plenty of bank stocks, telecom, ENB, ENF, IPL, MSI, FTS, AQN, CU.
This for a non-registered account, so .UN stocks are not of benefit. I have looked at the Income Model Portfolio. What would you consider to be good buys right now, whether or not the stocks are in the Model Portfolio? I also have a curiosity about EIF. Thank you.
