Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: It looks like Uranium Participation Corp is being taken over to the new Sprott Physical Uranium Trust later this year with a owners getting 1/2 unit for each common share. The shares will be delisted from the TSX and they plan to list in the US.

As a long suffering owner of U:CA, is it better to just sell my shares now or hold on through these management changes ?
It is held in my RRSP so there are no tax considerations here.

What happens during the time of delisting and hopeful new US listing; or should that happen on the same day?

Do you have other considerations that I should look for here?

Thanks for your advice.

Q: I have stayed away from energy, except for ENB and TC, which are pipelines.
Do you think there is more upside in the O & G stocks. If so what would you suggest?
Also the same goes for basic materials. I am not interested in gold. What would be your picks for basic materials.
Thanks for your service, I would be lost without it.

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and Team,

Portfolio Analytics indicates that we're overexposed to the Consumer Cyclical Sector. Please rank the above three stocks from "sell some shares first" to "sell some shares last" so that we can free up some cash to put in the Materials sector, which is presently underrepresented. What are your favourites in the Materials sector? (Either stocks or ETFs in Canada or the US.) Thanks as always.

Q: I’d like your thoughts on Emerita Resources (EMO) as a speculative investment. It’s had a big run lately following their apparent court award a contested mining property in Spain. Eric Sprott was interested enough to have put some spare change into it earlier this year, but the company hasn't historically put money into exploration, and doesn’t have any capitalized exploration and evaluation properties on their balance sheet.

Q: Not my worst, but far from my best TFSA performer. Small weighting that I often think about cleaning up. I can't seem to get past the thought that their assets must be worth something to others given drilling results. I see a decided shift toward Chinese board participants. Is such a sale possible in regulatory environment? What are your thoughts on continuing to hold? Might the Chinese possibility turn my frown upside down here?
