Q: Chesswood has announced that they will redeem all $20 million of its outstanding 6.5% convertible debentures in January 2018, well ahead of their maturity date of December 31, 2018
Can you explain 1) what is a convertible debenture? And 2) how material is it when these are redeemed ahead of their maturity date?

Q: Hi Peter,

Thank you for your new design and continued service. I have decided to sell PUR in my TFSA ($5k) and take the profit and reinvest. I was looking at growth stocks in Canada and did not like the alternatives (maybe ZCL or SHOP). My options appear to be in the USA or Asia. IF you could choose one growth stock (even a CDN one), which stock would you choose for a TFSA.
We have KXS, SYZ, AQN, FTS, FSZ, MFC, BNS, SIS

Q: Morning Gents,
You have addressed some question on AT in the past but I want to ask a more pointed one. I have a small position with them (just under $1000) and am down over 50%. Should I cut my losses on this one or just ride it out and see if I can at least recoup my investment?

Q: I am negatively surprised at the proposed sale announcement today, as a fairly large shareholder of IRG. The price of both Companies are trading down, which would indicate not all is well. To take 80% of MTY stock, how do they determine at what share price? Why would they have a no solicitation clause with MTY? Should the objective not be to maximize shareholder value and properly seek bidders? Your comments would be appreciated.

Q: Hello Team, The above stocks are a basket of small cap tech stocks that seem to keep cropping up in various analysts BUY recommendations for this sector. Can you rank order the remaining stocks with respect to a Top Pick for 2018 in this small cap tech sector. Before you start are there any you would scratch from or add to the list? Particularly add, after all there is no point in commenting on my picks when 5iR's might be completely different. I apologize for once again presenting 5iR with these investor conundrums. Q: Knight, Celestica and Lundin Mining are all trading at close to 1:1 price to book (per the Globe). Is that meaningful at all for any of these companies? Is it a "value" indicator that suggests better days may be ahead? Your thoughts, please. With thanks.
