Q: What would be your choice between these two for growth in the coming year bearing in mind interest rate hikes and the Trump administration effect? Would appreciate hearing your reasons. Thanks again.

Q: Many analysts are now advising building up positions in the lifecos in anticipation of a Dec fed raise. Obviously, these names have performed well over the last month and this is somewhat built into the valuations. Fortunately, I had sizeable positions in PWF and MFC before the run. Trying to buy more of any on a pullback but this may not be possible. Would you advise adding to any of these three names at these levels?
Q: What are your thoughts on the insurance companies in Canada versus US in general. Interest rates seem to affect the performance of the insurers and with the US on track for at least some small increase in rates in the not too far off future, I wondering if switching from Manulife (my current holding) to a US insurer (Aflac perhaps) in a registered account makes sense.
Q: Hi Peter and Gang,
I have been holding MFC for 1 1/2 years now and it just keeps trending lower, I am therefore considering switching from MFC to Sun Life. Is this move advisable?
Thanks,
Harry

Q: I believe you prefer SLF, but what do you make of MFC at these levels. Would you comment on their fundamentals, Asian potential, wealth management business and technical signals. Would they be a decent buy at these prices ,speculating on an interest rate hike. I've discovered that I am a patient investor and tend to hold on for better or worse.

Q: Hello Peter, all of these CIX, POW and MFC have been on a down hill slid. My losses are 20% plus, should I keep holding them or should I take my losses and replace them. I like to have your advise, perhaps can recommend alternative replacements. Many thanks for your advise, regards, J.a.P. bURLINGTON
Q: Manulife is down more than the market and SLF. Is there a company specific reason for this? With a yield over 4% would you consider this a good buy for a long term hold.
Q: Is it a good buy at these levels?

Q: Do you think the insurance claims from Fort McMurray fire damage will have an impact on the stock value of insurance companies
Q: Peter; I just read MFC is planning a second attempt to sell , in Singapore , a IPO of its U.S. real estate properties of 566 million units at $.82-.83 cents U.S. Why would they do a IPO of their US properties in Singapore ? Thanks. Rod
Q: MFC has recently had a substantial pullback. Is there a reason to be concerned? At over 4% yield, would you consider it a buy at these levels? Thanks.
Q: Can you comment on manulife. The street is not liking today's results. Is it worth holding.
Thanks Dave

Q: My wife and I both have TFSAs. We are in our eighties and the proceeds from TFSAs will go to our children on the second death. Would you consider MFC as a suitable investment for both of our accounts in 2016? Do you have better suggestions?
Q: My company will contribute 50% of what I contribute to the RRSP, however I can only invest with Manulife Mutual Funds.
What's your suggestion ? My time horizon is 18-20 years and I am an aggressive investor. The have a product called Assett Allocation that seems to invest a little bit in all of their funds.

Q: Good Morning,
I have completed a review of my portfolio and have concluded I have 10% insurance exposure probably a bit too high, made up of SLF,MFC,GWO and PWF. I know GWO & PWF are basically one in the same as PWF owns GWO. Which ones would you drop to reduce some exposure here? Thank-you.
