Q: Hi Peter and Gang,

I am currently downl by about 50% on DH and it accounts for about 1.5% of my portfolio (pre-earnings announcement), just wondering if I should add to my position, hold or liquidate. Much appreciated.

Q: In your Portfolio Update this morning you said "Rationale - With a US rate increase looking likely in December and a nice run in the US dollar thus far, we think it is time to repatriate the cash and and hold a bit of extra cash to allow us to take advantage of any new opportunities that may occur with a rate increase. Now that the rate of future rate increases has slowed, we think we can move funds into an area that may pay a bit better yield while continuing to provide stability."

Does that mean bring US cash back to Canada or send CDN $ to US?

Thank You
Craig

Q: I'd like to start a long term position in at least one or two healthcare stocks or ETFs, but the sector looks treacherous and I can't quite decide. I'm considering a wide range of names, including companies like JNJ, PFE, AMGN, NVO, NVS, RHHBY, MDT and ETFs like XLV, IBB and especially IHI (medical devices). I've read many of your prior comments, including one where you recommended AMGN. In light of the latest news about AMGN and its issues with Enbrel, I'm curious to know if your opinion has changed, and how you might compare it to NVS which has a competing drug. Mainly I'm wondering if any of the investments I listed sound promising, and how you might rank them. Thanks very much for your thoughts.

Q: My question is sort of on CXI. I use stockwatch.com to get online quotes and noticed that there are a few different quotes for (I think) different exchanges. Usually these different exchanges only differ by a few cents, but for CXI today, the difference was quite significant. My question is what are the exchanges (TSX, Chi-X, CX2, Omega, TriAct) and why is the price so different? Is there an arbitrage opportunity?

Q: KXS was up over 5% on Monday. 15 minutes prior to the Monday open the stock had a bid/ask of $55. Can you shed some light on how the pre market TSX works. The stock closed on Friday around $62 and as stated dropped as low as $55 before opening around $61. Are stocks actually traded in the pre market and if not how was the bid/ask of $55 determined? Thank you.

Q: I've written previously about overhauling a friend's poorly diversified portfolio. I re-worked 2/3 of it in the summer and that's going well but I left most of his energy holdings in place because the sector was rallying even though I wasn't a fan of many of the stocks.

I re-assessed yesterday and we're now selling KWH.UN, the disastrous CPG, and PGF while keeping small positions in ERF and VSN.

In a 7 figure portfolio that has pipelines but no other energy producers what companies would you suggest are best primed to grow assuming oil prices gradually rise. Dividends a bonus of course. In my own portfolio I have WCP, PEY, ALA, KEY and SGY.

Thank you!

Q: Peter, could you explain why Premier Gold (PG) has declined so much in the last three months (from $5 to $2.85). It has declined much more than my other seven gold stocks(KDX, NMI, FNV, AEM, SLW, MND, FR). Could you suggest a better replacement for PG if I decide to sell it?

Q: Understand business conditions are poor And ALC is a really good company in a very bad business. The political climate on free trade and energy concerns suggest there may be no recovery in demand for ALC bulk carrier shipping business any time soon. I noticed there is some shipping industry consolidation underway in Japan and perhaps other countries. Do you think industry consolidation is an option in North America and could it be helpful to ALC outlook. What would you do with this stock as tax loss selling gets underway. Thanks.
