Q: I am ussually not a holder of cash in my investment accounts. I have moved to about 15% cash by cleaning up some dogs and selling some assets that bounced back post march crash. The recent run has given me FOMO. My brain is telling me that the markets are crazy and there is no good reason for this recent run, the but the market is alway right. So I sit here asking myself "Am I acting like Trump or are the markets acting like Trump?" ....So my question is: if you did a 5i office water cooler poll how many think there will be a major second correction in next 4-6 months: never, unlikely, likely, 100%.

Q: Hello 5i,
Two questions (or maybe its three...) this morning so please deduct points accordingly (all arising out of Portfolio Analytics indicating I need to increase my US exposure and also my tech and health care holdings - all of which I'd like to do while staying on the TSX).
First regarding tech, each of TXF or TXF.B appear on their face to be promising investments, for their distributions if nothing else. Although the MERs are a little high, and net asset values and volumes are low, are there reasons why a buy and hold (3 to 5 years) in either is not a wise choice? And if a buy is warranted, the hedged or the unhedged?
Second, regarding health care I'm looking at HHL and HIG and would appreciate your thoughts on their comparative merits - and also to be told if you think either or both are best kept away from - again with a 3 to 5 year hold in mind.
As a wrap to all the above, if you think the ETFs I've asked about are best avoided for the 3 to 5 year term I've got in mind, can you offer some alternatives?
And finally just a comment: Portfolio Analytics has really allowed me to step back and get a much better objective look at my investments which had gotten spread all over the board and need some discipline, and has given me both the tools and the confidence to structure them (I think and hope!) securely and profitably.

I have held DOL since January 2018 and since that time, overall, I am down about 3%. I have somewhat lost patience with it as many of my other names have done well during that period.

What are your current thoughts on DOL and it's future over the next 3-5 years? If I was to sell it, what are some more larger (market cap) stocks that you like for a mix of balance and growth that aren't tech? I was thinking possibly BAM.A, TFII or BOYD as some candidates.

Q: Trying to reduce the number of stocks I hold. Currently I am broadly diversified across sectors and large cap/small cap, growth/dividend payers, so those are not concerns. I look at total return, and have a long term horizon, 5+ years. Comfortable with risky stocks. I have smallish positions in these 12 stocks and would like to sell maybe 6 to 8 of them, and redeploy the money into a few of the others on the list or into some of my other holdings. Would you select 6 - 8 of the above that you think are less likely to perform well over 5+ years, and could be sold, and maybe 2 - 4 that could be added to. Thank you.

Q: Hello,
I own KL. Gold is up 25% (1 year return) while KL is down almost 10% (1 year return). YTD, KL is down 2.5%. The quarterly results looked fine, they pay a dividend, been buying back shares but there has been relentless selling within the last 3 months from a stock price of over $76 down to now about $55 and change. In addition, its has breached its 200MA from a technical standpoint which does not bode well either.
Would you consider KL a buy at the current level and why do you think the stock has taken such a beating even though Gold seems to be holding up well.

Q: Hi there, I caught the BUS, but it looks like I'm on the express, anything you folks can shed light on for today's stock action?

Did they release any information during their virtual CUTA (Canadian Urban Transit Association) presentation today to ride their shares up?

Also, they stated the following today;
"Management looks forward to the review of third quarter financials, updates on the current delivery of 90+ Vicinity buses into the U.S., and a discussion of the new Vicinity LT electric vehicle. Specifications and detailed overview for the EV will be announced before market open on Tuesday"

3Q results are to be released Monday Nov 23 after market close.

Are investors looking forward, and reading more into their statement quoted above?

Have you heard any rumors floating around out there regarding Grand West, after today's presentation or release?
