Q: Looking to invest in the health care sector. Please rank these companies using the criteria of possibility of capital gains, relative security if inflation becomes a problem and fundamental strength. If you have other choices I would welcome the ideas.

Q: Hello, I am looking for an answer to a difficult question about evaluation of risk for fixed income assets.
I understand that for a long time, it was anticipated that the long decline of interest rates and correlated bond rally has ground down and the current prevailing question surrounding interest rates is how fast they may rise.
With this in mind, could you please offer thoughts on the relative risk of bonds? How much downside potential is there, and is it justifiable to buy their low volatility, even if it is believed to be a (apparently) horrible investment with no future potential, just for those two percents of yield?
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Q: I have a capital gain this year from PHO. I have never realized a capital loss in my lifetime. If I sell a losing position next year before my taxes are due (before April 30th) am I allowed to use that 2022 loss and apply it against my 2021 gain? Or do I need to sell a losing position in 2021 to apply it to the gain in 2021?

To pay no capital gains tax on PHO, do I need to sell a stock that has a loss amount EQUAL to the gain amount of PHO?

Q: GFL today announced that certain of its shareholders (the "Selling Shareholders") intend to offer for sale 12,658,228 subordinate voting shares (the "Shares"). GFL will not receive any proceeds from the sale of the Shares (the "Offering"). J.P. Morgan will act as underwriter for the Offering.
GFL did a similar offering on April 23, 2021 for 17,500,00. Should this be a concern, or is this normal for relatively new and growing company?

Q: I added 400 shares of VEDL in my wife's Spousal RRSP ---Vedanta Limited American Depositary Shares, after reading your answer to David On Sept.28/21--Nov.10/21 I received a notice from ITRADE, stating the company is deemed to be a non-qualified investment (NQI) for registered plans under the Income Tax Act. ... CRA may levy 50% penalty of the market value of the NQI ... Understand now delisted as a ADS. Can you help me to understand this mess? Also what red flag would be raised so I don't buy stocks That CRA rules NQI

Q: 1) One of the reasons I bought LSPD was due to a large ownership position by the Caisse De Depot Et Placement Du Quebec. If they dump their position then I will as well. Have they sold during the past six months, including during the recent share price decline?

2) I'm OK with a valuation reset as part of a long term fundamental growth trajectory. The stock is now broken. In your opinion, is the company's business and future prospects broken as well?
