Q: We are quite elderly, have a small pension and, to augment it, invest with BMO in a portfolio of 22 stocks that pays close to $35,000 annually in dividends. I'm looking for relatively stable income with safety and a modest chance of growth. Could I have your comments please, and any suggestions.

Q: Good Morning Peter, Ryan, and Team,
Tax loss selling season is coming to a close for 2017.
In your opinion which company(s), within the Balanced Equity Portfolio, appear to be sold down unnecessarily as a result of tax loss selling ???
To me GUD, WCP, CLS, and GC appear to be candidates. A company outside of the BE Portfolio that has really been thrashed is PEY although the gas market in Canada is brutal right now.
Thank you very much for your sage insights. DL
Q: Hi Team,
I have held a full position on both ENB and PPL for 4 years. Share price of ENB has been steadily dropping over the 1 - 2 years while PPL had held its own. I am therefore thinking of moving my money from ENB to PPL (I am therefore may be overweighed on PPL). Your thoughts and comments would be appreciated.
Cheers
Q: Glencore announced it will bring back zinc production again (as much as about 500mil tons). Can I get your comments on how this might affect zinc prices and TV in the next few quarters? i.e. How fast could Glencore ramp up its production causing a meaningful hit to the stock price of TV? Maybe this news was anticipated already by the market since we have had a pullback in TV from the 1.60 level.
Q: Regarding RHT I see they raised some capital today. Would you consider the price of the offering to be a vote of confidence in the company ? Also it looks like the same business that PHM was in.
If the costs of the monitoring programs are covered by private health insurers or government they could be subject to fee cuts just like CRH was. Could you comment on these concerns.
Thank You
Clarence
Q: PMM seems to be a good ETF for uncertain times like these (international, balanced, diversified, etc), but there is little interest/volume. Would appreciate your comments/assessment.
Q: Seasons Greetings 5i!!
I've done well on Firan Tech. over the last couple of years but it has stalled in 2017. I'm considering selling it and buying either TSGI or AVO for more growth. I'm concerned over which sectors I'm moving in or out of. Could I have your thoughts please?
Thanks
Dave
Q: Following the arrangement between ARE and CCCC International Holding limited, shall I sell my share as soon as the price is close to 20$ or wait an automatic transaction between the two companies?
I am wondering about the mechanics and if the deal is firm.

Q: I just read your comments regarding MLP’s, including AMZA as your preferred way to go. My question: the dividend on Globe Investor shows a dividend rate of approx. 25%. Even with the withholding tax that would still leave a dividend of about 15%.
Too good to be true? If so what are the downside risks?
Q: This stock VGL although very small seems also very inexpensive. It flirted with a large breakout but has since gone back to its previous range.Their business would seem to be recession proof. Would there be the possibility of some growth here. What would be the risks? I believe you mentioned in an earlier question that you were aware of management. What would be there share of ownership. Curious about your thots here.
Thanks
Q: Not a stock specific question but more of a learning question. Have done well with PEO and COV but the volume of shares traded is very low. I can see these 2 companies continue to be successful and I was wondering at they grow and more investors want to get into the shares what are the options the company have to increase the liquidity of shares and are the options usually beneficial to existing shareholders?
Q: CHW is considered a Hold by analyst yet as announced; " Chesswood Announces Renewal Of Bank Credit Facility And Upcoming Early Redemption Of Convertible Debentures", which seems to me to be a sign of overall strength in the company. Can I have your thoughts please.
