Q: hi, one assumes there is methodology that you look at to value this company as it relates to the price of Gold vis a vis all other mining costs etc. Where do you see the price of AEM with a Gold price at $5000? do you know how often the price of Gold meaningfully corrects in these bull markets? what price would you buy or add to AEM?
cheers, Chris

Q: SHOP is again the most valued company on the TSX. What portion of a portfolio should be allocated to SHOP in order to match the portion of SHOP to the total valuation of the TSX? I use the TSX as my benchmark and would rather remove the effect of SHOP when comparing my portfolio’s performance to the benchmark.

Q: In the past I have not been a buy and hold investor in commodities. I try to purchase cyclical stocks when they are out of favour and sell when I have made some money with the thought that they will eventually be "on sale" again in the future to buy back in. I have been patient and have held CS, Teck,B, HBM and LUN for a few years and have done really well on them all, especially recently. Is it time to cash in and be thankful for the gains or is the underlying demand for copper (and other materials) strong enough to continue this outperformance. Hold, Sell or buy more? Curious what you would be doing in this case.

Second question - Flutter took a hit because of investor concerns over competition from the prediction market platform Kalshi. Is this a serious threat to Flutter or is the market big enough for all? Are you still as bullish on FLUT as you used to be? Stock has teased us with some nice runs up but seems to fall back.

Thanks for all you do, couldn't be happier.

Q: I've been a holder of Copart for 2 years years and I'm down on my investment with negative momentum really escalating this year. I use to love the duopoly they operate in and their business model, but I recall reading they're only projecting mid single digit revenue growth continuing through 2026. I know they're sitting on a cash surplus that can be deployed and I know 5i still likes this stock as per your recent "best idea stock selection", but I'm starting to question it's 5 year growth rate going forward as momentum can be hard to reverse. It's hard to watch this multiple continue dropping while other areas of the market (AI, datacentres) are seeing visible growth and capital. Do you see this company going back to outperforming the market over the next 5-10 yrs or are it's best growth days well behind it? Thx

Q: Trying to understand the rationale of SBUX closing down locations. I may have it wrong but here goes. On the assumption that locations are franchises, then why close them down? It's the owner of the individual location that might be losing money but they are still buying product from Starbucks and contributing to their top line. Question is: are locations owned directly by Starbucks? If so, then closing down is the route to go.

Q: Hi Peter et al:

This is a slight variation of Robert's question on September 29th on Silver. Robert asked for high risk, high reward Silver/Gold Juniors.

Can you give some names in Silver/Gold Juniors: Low risk and reasonable reward. In other words can you add safety as a factor and give some names?

Thanks for answering my question on majors in Silver. I have initiated positions in PAAS/CDE/AG. The only thing that baffled me a bit is that I see you had included FM in some answers but not in others.

Many thanks.

Q: Hey 5I

Seeing how PRL is in a bit of a spiral for all the reasons you've recently mentioned, I am contemplating selling PRL and buying EQB with a plan to but back into PRL when it turns around. What do you think?

Q: Have trimmed SHOP and NVDA in my TFSA and am looking to initiate some new positions - all are favourites of 5i - at todays pricing would you favour the most attractive "3" and if so, which 3, or simply buy across the board?

Thanks,

Terry

Q: Can you recommend some real estate / reits that are traded on US markets? Perhaps top 3 for growth, and top 3 for stability and income.

Q: I've reached a 100% return on SHOP and taken some profit. I'm happy with this result after a long time in the red through 2022 and 2023. Thanks for the service and this recommendation.

I've been managing a portion of my investments since 2010 and find one of the hardest decisions is when to sell an investment. One rule I follow is if I have a 100% gain, I sell a portion of if. This of course only covers one of many reasons to sell, and taking profits maybe the least stressful reason, but I find this reduces my overall mental load in managing my accounts.

I wanted to share and see what you thought of this idea and see if you, or any other members, have other rules of thumb for selling to help novice investors.
