Q: 5I team - I have marvelled today at the quality of your answers to questions and, in particular, options questions. Great job. My question is on methodology of "optimizing" covered call strategies and would request any reference you may have available in addition to a response.I have held MRNA and sold 109 Dec covered calls, purchased the calls when the stock went to 129, resold 125 Dec CC and am now trying to develop a strategy with the stock at 149. Is the simple and. most effective process to buy the calls back and place a stop loss position short of the current price? Again, if you have a reference to provide options in dealing with this, it would be much appreciated. Thank you
Q: I'm currently in SIS, but not happy that they haven't grown the company this year and am worried the cuts to maintain net income may hamper future growth, unless a major acquisition is made.
I have a long term horizon and rarely sell, but I am considering a switch to REAL. Would this be wise in your view, or should I be more patient and forgiving with SIS?
Other than personal RE and BAM, I currently have no equity exposure to RE at this time.
Thanks,
Q: Hi, With recent more companies use SPAC IPO, I wonder how can I know if a company was SPAC IPOed or traditionally IPOed in late days, say 3 month after the IPO? Was PLTR IPOed in that way? Also related, where to find SPAC companies lists? Thanks,
Q: What are your thoughts on ONLN ETF. Would you recommend holding the ETF or do you prefer another one in the same sector? Is there ETF in CDN dollars.
Q: Could you please recommend a low cost etf for an resp for 3 or 4 years to introduce someone safely to markets. For example a dividend growth, tsx or your ideas. What are the cost for the etfs? Thank you for your assistance.
Q: I am planning to allocate ~4% of my total investment portfolio (16% of my total fixed income allocation) to a high-yield bond ETF (within an RRSP) with a long time frame. Please comment on more mainstream selections like ZHY and HYG vs something like ANGL.
Q: Norbert's Gambit appears to work well to convert CAD to USD. However, this Gambit does not work for the reverse conversion. Do you have any suggestions as to how to limit your foreign exchange conversion fee, while limiting risk, when converting from USD to CAD?
Q: Room in my TFSA for only one of the above-noted stocks. Please rank in order of preference and offer a brief explanation as to the ranking. Thank you.
I couldn't find any news to account for the 70% pop today on high volume so I sold half my shares.
I would appreciate your view of this company and its prospects going forward.
Q: What are your thoughts on the impact of Air Canada’s recent announcement that they are pursuing the cargo market. What is the impact on Cargojet? Will this result in a significant impact on margins? Would you sell Cargojet as a result of the stiffer competition? Are you still concerned of the debt levels in Cargojet? Thanks for your expertise.
Q: Iiroc stopped trading yesterday. Looking back at the release it names the stock Mene.WT and it trades on V.
Does the WT stand for warrant ? If so I don’t recall ever seeing this, please clarify.
Also on their Q3 results they have reported their first quarterly operating income, after going public less than 3 years ago. Is this significant, and would you buy the stock ?
Thanks for your help.
