Q: You recently recommended LLY as a buy at $850/875. Today it is trading at $838. Any sense of why it has been dropping so much lately, and would you recommend a buy at current prices?

Q: Hi, US Small caps are finally showing some love, with IWM - Russell 2000, up more than 10%, in past 4 days, after trading sideways for over 2 years. Experts seem to be watching this move with great interest, due its significance, pointing to expanding breadth of the market beyond a handful of Technology mega cap stocks.
My question is about the Small cap sector in TSX, which still seems to be lagging its US peers, except some strength in the materials. Is this normal, historically? What could be the reasons for this divergence and do you see this gap narrowing, in the near term ?
Your perspective would be really helpful as many of us follow your advice and Model Portfolios. Small Caps are your expertise, without doubt and you ( Peter, Ryan and Team ) are regarded as one of the Best Portfolio Managers in US and Canadian stocks.
Thank You

Q: Hey folks, hope everyone is enjoying the summer season. I own basically an equal weighting of BN (4%), BAM (4%), BEP(4%) in our various accounts. I'd like to buy a 4% position in BIP. Now comes my question, should I be a lumper or splitter - that is, am I ok looking at these as 4% positions, or would I be better to look at this as 12% position moving to 16% wrt Brookfield products??
Q: Hello Peter & Team,
I know (looking at previous questions) 5i likes XEI as do I with the good dividend I continue to enjoy. But it has languished since Aug 2022 when I took up a position to the tune of (as of today) a tad over -8%. Considering market conditions since that time and the fact the Blackrock index is made up of some 50+ S&P/TSX composite index stock, shouldn't I be enjoying a little bit better performance on the capital gains side of things? My goal with this ETF was to enjoy the dividend and appreciate a 4 or 5% per year return or at least stay close to par. Is there something I'm missing? Are my expectations unreasonable? What is your interpretation of what drives this ETF?
Thanks for all you do
gm

Q: Hi 5i,
I’m looking at ETF options to add trend/futures exposure to my portfolio. TFPN, MFUT and DBMF are three names that are frequently referenced. Can I ask your opinion on these three ETFs, and if there are other names you would short list?
Thank you in advance. Please feel free to deduct credits as needed.

Q: I have a small position purchased quite a while ago. Since purchasing it has been up and down, most of time was under water, now it is up about 30%. I am thinking of switching it to a better one with potentially more growth and stable. Could you please provide your comments?
Thanks,
Lin

Harvest Industrial Leaders Income ETF (HIND $11.84)
Q: Hello 5i,
You recently mentioned HIND-T in a response.
On the surface, this would be ideal for my needs: increase U.S., increase Industrial, and increase dividend yield/income.
Conversely, it is very small (~23 m AUM?), trades very thinly, and is very, very new.
Given the above, how would you rate this equity as an investment for a retiree?
Any other caveats you would care to add?
Any similar, but better, alternatives that you would prefer?
Many thanks for your insights!
Cheers,
Mike

Q: Hi with interest rates beginning to edge lower what would be the sectors most likely to benefit? Could you give me a couple of your favourite picks for each of those sectors. Would you be edging in, fully buying in, or hold off for a possible October correction? With the likely chaotic return of Trump to the Presidency would the Renewable stocks such as BEPC be at risk of correcting under this scenario? He does not like windmills much... Q: hello 5i,
looking for your ideas re : a few ETF recommendations.
1. One would be for US defense holdings.
2. Agricultural, either international or N. American.
if there are individual stocks that would better than an ETF by all means please advise.
thanks so much.

Hi 5i,
Second half of question. Could you please recommend one or two ETF's covering the following categories.
1. A pure play natural gas ETF.
2. Any basket ETF covering the Honk Kong exchange?
You guys are the best!
Thanks,
Ralph

Q: Thank you for your wise answer last week: Sentiment toward the company is fairly poor right now and toward the discretionary sector more widely. FIVE remains a strong company fundamentally with a long runway for growth via store openings but we might give them one more quarter for a bit more clarity/visibility before adding to the name.
The stock tumbled 25% yesterday and the CEO is out and the stock is at 76$ now. What would you do now ? Is the decline an overreaction ? Thanks again !
