Q: What is your best idea to invest in solar energy?
Q: what is your opinion of bbu.un for a long term hold?
Q: Hi: I have a small portfolio containing Bep.un, Drg.un, and Bns.( just starting out). Can you recommend a couple of stocks and etf's for further diversification. This would be for a medium to long term hold, risk tolerance is medium .
Thanks
Thanks
Q: I presently have Brookfield Infrastructure and WSP Global at 4% & 2% of my portfolio. Holdings are never allowed to exceed 5% regardless of quality) I would greatly appreciate suggestions on names of a couple of other Canadian company in the same field with international business.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: I am new to 5i, and investing based on the Balanced Equity Portfolio. Some of the companies in the portfolio have B and even C ratings. Why are they here if A ratings are the best? It seems to me I should get the best performance if I only invest in the A rated companies in the portfolio. Or am I wrong?
Q: McEwen Mining has fallen like a stone from $5.80 to $4.20 within a month. Is this common among smaller gold companies or just weakness due to pending US interest rate rises? I like the high insider ownership and potential of this 1company. Would you buy it at this price and can you recommend another similar-sized gold company?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Q: I know the market has run up and may be getting "expensive". However I am wondering if you can recommend three or four mid or large cap Cdn. stocks that are still reasonably valued, excluding oil and gas and financials. I am well diversified so sector choice is not an issue. Thank you, Bill
Q: Hello 5i team,
Instead of collapsing EFN into ECN as per your note,I was thinking of keeping both but on an equal weight basis. Your comments are most appreciated.
I usually follow your suggestions, except once when you exited FSV in March 2015, post split; I kept both and had an average return of 90%.
Keep up the excellent work because I count on it. I'm 74 years old and when my brain power will eventually slow down like my creaky bones, I will have no choice but to "blindly" follow your advice.
Kind regards,
Antoine

Q: Hi Peter and Team, In the Financial sector of our combined accounts, we hold only one stock that's down - CXI - held in my TFSA - which is down by 21%. We also hold BMO, BNS, GSY, SLF, and ZBK, which are all nicely in the black. I know you believe that CXI has long-term potential, but since it doesn't pay a dividend while 'waiting', I'm considering selling it. Which of our other holdings in this sector would you recommend adding the proceeds of a possible sale of CXI? As always, thanks in advance for your insight and advice.
Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and 5i Team
I yearn for a position in a pipeline company. Do you think the sector is fully valued at this point, or could one of the group be cheap, or at least be reasonably priced, and provide growth possibilities. I am anticipating that the oil price will increase over the next few years.

Q: Good Day to all. I'm 63, retired and have $400,000 to invest. Funds won't be required for 8 years, I have a moderate risk tolerance and would target a 4% dividend return on the portfolio.
In this scenario and with current economic/political environment, do you recommend:
(a) an investor buy your model income portfolio as it is currently reported, or
(b) a different portfolio of stocks and perhaps ETFs and
(c) should such an investment be made today, in whole or in part.
Thank you for your valuable and much appreciated advice.

Q: on Dec 29 IGM acquired 13.9% on China Asset Management .
Is this deal big enough to diversify IGM's asset base
and add meaningfully to earnings.? I thought it looked
like a great deal but there has been little comment
in the press . Is the stock cheap ?
Thank you

Q: Hi,
I previously owned MDA and sold for a small loss, but am increasingly interested in getting back in. My question is about MDA's ability/experience/success integrating take overs. I understand they took over another US company a number of years ago. Could you tell me how big that was ($$ terms) and how successful, in your opinion, they've been in integrating the company?
Thanks,
Cam

Q: Holy Insanity! Who are the crazy gamblers (not investors) buying SNAP Inc at a price/sales ratio of 71 times! A valuation like that makes companies like Shopify and Nvidia seem like a bargain! I don't see anything that resembles a "moat" with this company, especially since Facebook has duplicated all the cool features of Snapchat onto Instagram? Am I missing something here 5i, or is this going to be the easiest SHORT for the next 2 years?

Q: Hi Team , presently hold WCP as 3% holding. Would like to accompany that with a bigger player. Thinking of Suncor or Vermillion energy. Looking for growth and dividend as well. Which of the two would you recommend or is there another name you would recommend? Thank-you in advance. Sam
